Probably Preston's bid is on Hendo - so there's one or two clubs interested AND one bid accepted. Hendo still has to want to go.

He's gone and I cant blame him. Now where does that leave our squad as we cant attract any new players

Oh dear, it is looking more than likely that he is going.

I don't think i've ever been so pissed off with the club, in particular Aidy!

15 goals in the Champ is 15 goals, who else is going to get that many other than King or Priskin maybe.

Selling Henderson would probably be the worst decision I've seen the club make in a footballing sense since the bald one!

The thing is they let him know he was surplus to requirements before securing anyone else. BAD move. Decent towards Hendo HAD DJC signed. When he didn't we end up idiots because Aidy tried to be fair to Hendo and let him his situation before matters were solved.

Hendo has been told he won't be first choice as Marlon's partner so there's no way hell stay. But I think it's another of those things Aidy has to learn from - a mistake on his part.

[Disclaimer] For all we know - Hendo may have wanted a new and better contract and rather than paying up - the club chose to cash in the 850k profit we stand to make. There may be lots of things we don't know about the situation BUT - from what we know - the club and Aidy in particular have made a massive mistake [/Disclaimer]

I also agree - managers live or die based on such decisions, and I am afraid Aidy has heaped more pressure on himself by this very curious situation.

You just can`t buy a 15 goal a season Championship striker (with Prem. experience) of his age for £1.3 million at present - which is why 3 potential rival promotion contenders are reportedly keen to sign him.

It smacks of overconfidence on Aidy`s part - he will learn by it, but it will hamper the team performance unless he can find an adequate replacement.

i was looking forward to him banging goals in this season - wasnt his strike rate per game better than kings last time in the championship?

i think we will regret losing hendo as there soesnt seem to be a suitable replacement around the corner

    This article changes nothing.

The bid from Preston was accepted before we missed out on HH and DJ. For all Preston know Aidy could decide to keep hold of Darius and persuade him to stay while they are all having fun in Germany and then ring them up pulling the plug on the transfer before Preston even get to speak to him. He could also just tell Wednesday when they come-a-calling that he's not for sale anymore.

Preston would probably have been a more attractive proposition than Wednesday anyway.

The Wednesday manager is just doing to their fans what Aidy was to us regarding HH- trying to keep them excited about the future and get them off his back for a while by making it look like he is trying to get the players they want.

Article says they've made a bid for Rasiak, forgot about him - we should do the same especially if we do lose Hendo!

Before we suffer a mass outbreak of sackcloth and ashes how about waiting for any departure to be confirmed. As we should know only too well having an interest in a player is a lot different to him actually moving.

Fair point but it seems a pretty strong rumour.

ofcourse he may not want to join any of those clubs...do they have more chance of going up than us?

I'd say a lot less chance of going up than us, Preston have sold their star in Nugent and are great under achievers, Shuff Utd will be nothing without Warnock who love him or hate him at least fired up the bunch of muppets at the club, and I really can't see Sheff Wed having sufficient class in depth to be serious contenders. I reckon it will come down to whether or not he can live with being a very valuable squad player rather than an automatic choice.

To be honest I think he will be much more regular than any of you think if he stays.

I won't bang on about it again as it is covered in umpteen other threads, but IMO the extra option he gives us is invaluable. Any striker who scores 15 in the Championship isn't to be sniffed at, especially when your replacements are all completely untried in the division.
