Very good player. And you can never have too many of them. But you’d have to ask, if the interest is solid and genuine...where does he play? The only reason I can see is if we are building a squad where rotation is regular. But it hasn’t been so far.
Building a side where injuries and suspensions are regular. Suspension for Capoue and who is CM on the bench? Not Tom Cleverley right now and even when it is someone else won't be available for sure.
No, no I agree. Totally. And I’ve been the biggest advocate in the past that we need to build a strong squad of 25, as opposed to just having 13/14 players of quality and then sub-standard players making up the rest. I just think if we are looking at quality additions for January (where minimal business is done), CM really isn’t a position that needs attention in relation to others. I’m also not sure bringing in another CM sends a great message to Quina/Wilmot about their likelihood of forcing their way into the managers thoughts on a regular basis. I think either of those is worthy of thought if we get injuries.
I doubt if either are ready for a sustained first team run. The Prem demands players are so nailed on ready. If we do go for a new CM then we’ll know the answer. In any case Herrera may be an upgrade and we can always use that. However, if business is minimal it does appear centre defence needs first attention.
Would think that central defence and strike force needs strengthening first , however we all know Gino likes a good midfielder.
