Harry Forrester to Villa ? I took time out from looking at the t1ts in today's Daily Sport to read the football news, and apparently Harry Forrester has gone to Aston Villa. Anyone know any different ?
Yes it will be Sh1ttu manning the defence, and Forester running the midfield supplying the balls to Young and Bouazza up front for Villa next season if you believe what you read on here . . .
Watford starlet signs for Villa Aston Villa beat off competition from other Premier League clubs to sign Watford starlet Harry Forrester. More...
Disgraceful how a player that age can be 'poached' by bigger clubs! Should be a law against it! Well done Watford, we've just lost out on potentially millions!
Obviously we don't know the ins and outs of the situation but It makes you wonder what are the true motives of his agent, Surely a kid at that age would be better off developing as a player at a club of our size. You would think that him being at Villa would add at least an extra three seasons onto gaining first team experience (whenever that happens). It just makes you wonder if an agent has the players long term future in mind or in the short term does a premiership player look better for his portfolio?
His myspace site did seem to indicate that he was a prize pr**k. It is a shame that a young prospect has left, but you never know how good a player he will turn out to be. I am sure we will get some compensation, perhaps we can use it to our advantage and get a player from villa in exchange like we did from Man Utd with Webber for Eagles. I hear Villa have a promising winger who can play up front as well, Ashley Young or something like that, perhaps we could do a deal there? In all fairness, Villa are one of those clubs who do bring youth team players through into the first team so if he is any good, I am sure he will have a chance there (albeit probably less of a chance than us).
Can someone link to his myspace? Someone is going to get an unhappy comment mocking his layout. And being serious, compensation??
It's now gone I think, I searched for it earlier on. It wasn't different to any others these days, prats whose pictures are themselves in front of a mirror topless. Fair play to him. Big club, not too far from where he lives, more money later down the line, more exposure. Good luck to the lad.
yes but despite this he still probably would have left this is really bad news, i think he would have been a quality player for us we will get compensation but it depends how much we got 500k for eagles would like to get a mill
The one and only reason HIS FATHER decided Watford wasn't the correct place for his son was to do with a certain sacking not so long ago. Don't be surprised if the Young boys go the same way at a later stage, as their old man apparently has similar held views.
Firstly, I can't believe people are blaming the club for this. What more could they have done? 'Reassure him' people say...yet don't you think this was done already? Nor can the club force him to sign anything. We can't compete with the opportunities a Prem club can offer him. Of course, there are plenty of persuasive arguements for why he should have stayed here: better chance of first team action sooner, good solid base, a history of not holding young players back if the right mov materialises etc etc. Fact is his advisors need to be looked at, not WFC. Secondly, for all the hype surrounding him, there's absolutely no guarantee he'll go on to do much in the pro game. My bet is he'll stay at Villa til he's 19, then be free transferred to a League 2 standard club, where his career will bob along unimpressively. That's what happens to most of the 15yo boy wonders. Just because he's been hoovered up by one of the bigger clubs in the UK as part of the annual youth talent search doesn't mean he'll make anything of himself. In response to Jon - you're probably right the Cummins thing had something to do with (though I really can't see why it should). Can't see it happening with the Young boys though. Their parents have already been through the system once with Ash and know it can work here.
Rich Harrys father was very vocal over the sacking. I don't get the Observer but did hear a few weeks ago something was due to be printed in respect of some quotes from his old man, anyone see anything???
Jobr is spot on. Rich, the club has handled the running of the academy appallingly over the last year. They have upset the staff, sacked the senior coaches and unsettled the boys and their parents. I know one of the academy coaches and this is not bull. Forrester was the brightest prospect that the club has had for some years - even more so than Ash. So I am sorry, I do blame the Club for this. And he will not be the last to leave. Furthermore I am secretary of a local youth football club with approx. 250 players from 7 upwards. WFC scouts are about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit - there is just little trust in their academy system at present.
I don't think any quotes were printed mate. Just because of Cummins? Or was that just the proverbial straw?
Perhaps with the deal to broker peace between the 2 sides the WO decided against printing any more damaging quotes.
Not just because of Cummins but that is one example - obviously we can not talk too openly about this but he clearly believes that he was entitled to something. I tend to believe his side of the story but only time will tell. There is just a general feeling of mistrust that you do not get from other clubs eg Spurs.
What do you think the reason for this is? Are the new coaches (Dodds,Bates) not popular in terms of how they coach/speak to the youngsters? I guess guys like Forrester have got so used to working with Cummings and have though the change in management was for the worse. When I saw the Youth team play they have done well and looked confident (admit HF was the best!) on the pitch anyway.
I think your spot on there! People are reading far to much into this. Players have coaches and mangers they like playing for and generally follow them like puppy dogs!! its a fact at every level of the game. If the kid does'nt like the new coach then fair enough thats life and you've got to give him credit for doing something about it rather than sulking... I dont know where Cummings went or is now but he's got a good track record for bringing youngsters through and we've got to hope that the new guy is half as good...
