Souness and partners are bidding to take a controlling stake in Wolves. If you had a choice would you keep the Club owned as it is or would you prefer an alternative?
I would like the Club owned by us the fans, with a £100 million warchest, and I have the final say!!!! Seriously though it was not long ago when lots of people were questioning Simpson, the Russos and Lord Ashcroft. I have always thought GS to have the best interests of the Club at heart but I did wonder about the Russos - until I met them, they are good guys imo. As for Ashcroft I thank him for coming in and backing the Club but only time will tell. The amount of money he has invested is a splash in the ocean of his wealth and I am prepared to give him the benefit of any doubt.
I too had reservations over the board but having spoken to them several times I genuinely believe they have the clubs best interests at heart. Despite that lets no kid ourselves nobody on the current board is mega rich, GS is probably the poorest chairmen in the league. So selecting an option I would go for other i.e. a rich benefactor.
If the fans keep supporting GS's ideas/ways of doing business then we'll have a successful future. Don't forget, GS financed that awesome day out in Cardiff!!
Went for Other despite the fact Simpo has done a great job (fiscals apart) because I would like Ady to have the financial tools to compete on a level playing field with other clubs or around the same size and maybe a bit bigger. Fed up of the 'Cash Strapped Waford' tag and whilst I would never want an Abramovich type benefactor it would be nice to have a few spare pounds/euros in the building society.
Good Lord! I pity any club that has Souness at the helm! He'll probably want to appoint himself as manager too! First time I've ever had any sympathy for Wolves fans.
is it was going to change i'd like to see the club implement a spanish structure, where the fans own the club.
To be honest - I'd stay how we are. The current solution - after a slow start - has shown they love the club and know what they're doing. Even before the promotion the financial state of WFC was improving and they were building for the future. The promotion has accelerated things and it also helps that aidy has helped Ash go so far as to be rated at 10 mio. So we have a valuable talent base along with the senior assets. I'd hate for an American moron to come in. I still want soul in the business, whereas the Lerners and Glaziers are only about cash. If a true Watford fan had the cash and the desire to buy the club and fill it's coffers once in a while for fun - so be it. But that's not likely so I'd go for our current setup.
