Just ***** LOL at the quality of the goals this season. Masina's free kick? Cleverley's grass cutter? I scored better goals for Harvey Road JMI. As much as I liked Sarr's brace v Reading, I had to vote for Chalobah v Cardiff. Sumptuous stuff. And you?
Having just opened the link from the email, the first thing that strikes me is how tinpot a way of presenting this vote it is. One continuous Youtube video?! Embarrassing they couldn't at least orchestrate it to show clips of each of the goals individually next to a description where you could vote - to have to open another link and put your answer in a form like a census - what is this, 2003? Also before seeing them and off the top of my head, I presume my answer will be JP at Derby. Let's see if I'm right...
Yep agreed, it was dreadful presentation. And that music... I think the keeper should have saved JPs. Sarr's curler v Reading was better I reckon.
I had forgotten about the two from Sarr at Reading somehow, and also (good as it was) how much closer to the centre JP's was than I remember - don't get me wrong, I think it would have been ******* hard to save whatever the weather, but in my mind the ball was being carried by a pair of doves as it arced perfectly into the area where the owl sleeps. I went for Sarr's second at Reading - not because it was technically the best, but because it was my favourite. Honourable mention to the one you mentioned, Chalobah at Cardiff, which was technically the best, and Sarr's first at Cardiff.
Any answer other than Chalobah vs Cardiff is incorrect. I assume the historical nature of Masina’s FK meant it had to be in there given it had been so long - but it’s not a good goal.
Agree, the only goal that could be described as a ‘wow’ moment and will be remembered in times to come. Only Sarr’s first against Reading comes into consideration.
Sarr’s second. Only way to better a goal like that is for it to graze the bar on its way in. Majestic when the ball screams into a fixed net and bounces out.
Chalobah v Cardiff for sure, great footwork, crucial goal at a key time in the game. Best goal scored against us? Ladapo for Rotherham springs to mind.
Think Sarr's two goals may split his vote. First was a better team goal and lovely technique. But the second strike was so definite and immensely satisfying. I'm torn. Chabs was great skill mind. One of those three for me. Definitely not Masina's free kick hit and hope -although that's what gave me hope back for promotion being possible.
As said in the other thread, I voted for Pedro at Derby. The technique for that was sublime, however I can see that goal not winning because it was during the Ivic era.
My vote went to Sarr's first vs Reading - not only because of how good it was, but also because of how vital it was. His second one was perhaps a slightly better hit, but the first was also excellent with his weaker foot, and gave us the confidence to go on and win what was a huge and potentially difficult game in our hunt for automatic promotion.
I’ve gone for Chalabah away at Cardiff Shortly after they scored ,fantastic footwork and technique got us back on par ....!
1) Sarr 1st V Reading - similar technique to Pedro goal but had the link up play as well. Kiko / Sarr combo has been a major factor this season. 2) Chalobah fancy footwork (I was very split between these 2) 3) Pedro
Amazed Sarr's goal at Boro wasn't in the list, brilliant improvisation from our Senegalese Superstar.
