I'm sure that's wrong mate, i'm sure he signed a deal in the summer until 2010? £3,500,000 is laughable to be honest! That said, Watford will except anything IMO above £5,500,000! I know i've slated King recently for not looking interested and sulking, but he really is the key to our promotion this season! I do think he's a c**t though for wanting out at this stage of the season when we're lying in an automatic position! He's allegedly sticking his fingers up at Boothroyd, the man who's revived his career! Fair enough if he wants to leave in the summer, when we know which league we'll be in, but to leave now is, IMO, out of order! It would also be suicidal from our point of view to sell him now, for any price!! If we do sell him then as KJ says, we need to be asking serious questions about the direction of the club!
He's contracted till 2009 The deal he signed in the Summer was more money for the same length as his previous contract
I haven't got time to go back through this thread but has anyone mentioned his transfer request before Xmas?
Simple solution to all involved go public with skeggyhornets valuation on marlon £12M and you can have him, silly I here you say not really. 1. who is going to pay that no one ?? so he wont go. 2. he stays so aidy and co saves face. 3. we get to keep our star player and hopefully go up and he stays for good. 4.on the reverse he goes for £12M we get a pot of gold and so does he. A simple solution so what ever happens its all in our best intrest £5m now thats silly.
Is that official or another silly rumour... Seems whatever the board do people don't believe them...is there really a complete lack of trust in Ashton and Simpson? Is that down to the Watford Observer (personally I don't think Tim Shaw can talk about how money should be spent after the ****** saga) article a few weeks back or just simply a view built up over the years.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/watford/6673057.stm June 2009, only signed at the end of last season. Smooth move by the Watford board..not!
Fulham have been told they must find £8m if they are to take striker Marlon King from Watford to Craven Cottage. (The Sun) If true then that's certainly a bit more like it on the money side of things, I still wouldn't sell though.
Apologies if this has already been posted but don't Forest have a sell-on clause on Marlon? Wasn't it as much as 20-25%. Anyone know? UEA Rich - this is a question that I know you will relish finding the answer to.
There's your answer: http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/d...me=yes&more_nodeId1=133959&contentPK=19446621 Lazy Berko! Have they not invented google in Berko yet?
Indeed it is and that sets a completely different complexion on the situation. Basically selling would have to be the last resort or really stupid money being offered. What we don't know is if Marlon has any triggers in his contract whereby he has to be allowed to talk with other clubs.
Makes no sense to sell our best striker under these conditions when we would struggle to find a replacement. IMO MK will fire us into the Prem and sign an extended deal in the summer. Automatic promotion must be the aim as even if U win the playoffs there is too little time to strengthen the squad. We are still in an excellent position ... lets hope and pray the board don't blow it.
on sky sports news now, Fulham have upped their anti to 4.5m and with a player. Doesn't say who though.
Collins John -:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]] The next time Aidy speaks to CJ is when CJ is being buried and Aidy will still call him a canut followed by Jobr, PYA etc.
I think that Ellington was bought so that we had an option if Marlon went. He only had to have a half decent season to put himself on peoples tongues which he has done. If Ellington had been given Kings starts this year would he have a similar goal tally ? I for one thinks maybe all the guy was missing was a run in a side and some confidence back. Would we want Collins John as well, Aidy likes him but having watched Watford since I was 5 years old one thing sticks in my mind and that is the crowd will only take to a player who wants to play for the club !
Fulham are sh1te and they were last season -they have a s c u m bag who owns them and they are headed for oblivion. Let's have nothing to do with them unless we can get Jimmy Bullard
No thanks...why would we accept a bid of only 500k more and for a player who has rejected in the past if the rumoured player is John.
It's £4,500,000 plus a selected list of players for Aidy to choose from....he doesn't need a frigging list, we know exactly which waste of space he'll want as part of the deal! :dismay:
