suppose as its now £5m it breaks a psychological barrier. if aidy says he dont need to sell him then i hope he doesnt
I think he is worth a bit more than 5 mill. We will have to wait and see if Aidy keeps to his word and says he isnt going to sell Marlon.
£5mil could do a fair bit if invested properly in players however I doubt that we would be able to do that. Come on Aidy, prove me wrong.
He will be sold, Aidy will look like a prat (again) and only half (if that) will be re-insvested in the squad
Dont forget at least £1 million from this will be going to Notts Forest , so the true fee for Watford is actually £4 million !
at the price we paid for the puke he should of proved himself by now and has not, I think it will have the opposite effect on the puke if king goes he will probably have to play granted but the pressure wont be on him so much , as for the value of King £5m in January is pants as this window is really a back up buying plan for most clubs and generally most teams are just buying players to strengthen their squads the phrase bench warmers comes to mind, King will still be worth that come the summer and even if he is not what he might do for us between now and then will be worth the difference in price so without using some of Paddy's fine grammar fulham can go away.
Since £1 mio goes to Forest we tell them at £6 mio it's a done deal and that is about his right value in the current market place. We have enough strikers in the squad give them a chance and if they don't make it we can have a mega clear out at the end of the season, however, I have a strong feeling one or two will step up to the plate and score a good few goals for us and we can strengthen defence and midfield from the proceeds.
Is that £5 million plus Bullard or `just the cash`? If the player plus deal is still on the table - I think the club will be tempted. Interesting to see if Marlon recaptures his 20 goal a season form, it is strange how he and Hendo tend to `blow hot and cold`together.
:]]:]]:]] This is the dylema because we ALL know it won't :]]:]]:]] 5mil buys you Jack Sh$t nowadays ... I say better the devil you know !!!
May well prove to be the case but the bloke hasn't been given a decent chance so far and 10 minutes a game is not enough.
now ask yourself why he only gets that, as for routledge £2.5m and roberts £2.5m ones allready gone the other wont.
As previous experiance shows us, top players do not want to join us. Where was the improvement after receiving the Ash money? I think the club will seriously think about this and probably let him go. Come the end of the season, he will not be worth 5 mil. We've only received this offer and that's because Foolham are desperate to stay up. There is no list of clubs wanting him. I dont think we can afford to sell him, no matter which way you look at it
If after what Aidy said the other day King still goes then he can f**k off as well as far as I'm concerned. We don't need the money, £5m is sh*t anyway, he's our best player, and we won't sign a replacement.
That is simply not enough money. King is worth, market value, at least £7-8m IMO. We need King, Fulham can go **** themselves. We can raise funds by selling off OUR cr@p, not by selling one of our only quality players.
£5M is nothing. Out of that sum, Nottm Forest get a slice, King himself gets a slice, his agent takes a slice, and the rest is probably being paid as 24 month installments. No thanks.
That's right, but it's hard to find clubs who are willing to pay, say, £3.25M rising to £4.25M for cr@p.
fulham have made three bids starting at £3.5M and ending up at £5M if they are that desperate they might be offering a bit more after all they paid £3M for bouazza and marlons surely worth double that as for Marlon they cant be offering him much of a deal and as for £5M that might sound a lot of money to people on here but what would it say about Aidy selling him for that and I think thats where it lies if it was an offer that watford would be silly to turn down then it would be on but as it is its just fulham trying to poach another one of our players but this time the money is not enough and their future is not as attractive as it was for previous players,my outlook on the situation anyway lets hope im right as I wouldnt like to see him go at any time.
its just not enough money in the current market lets look at it this was how much did that kenwyne jones bloke go for?
yes hes younger but the january window always inflates prices we all know that. Its why we got so much for ash. as such taking anything less than 6-7 million in the current market is just ridiculous
Routledge is no better than Smith IMO, Would be a rip off at £2.5 Roberts would cost at least £3.5 and BOTH players would be on wages £20K-£25K wages !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
routlege is rumoured to be requesting aroud £30k a week mark and roberts im not sure on but bringing in roberts would be because of the ellington thing and thats like the washerdryer situation if the dryer is broke or the washer is broke niether is any good and we have allready got problems with the washer.
Spot on. Why sell an icon of the club (with all his faults he's the best striker we've had for a generation) and gamble on being able to replace him, which would be tough with 5m. Simple, direct and spot on. Yeah, but he's not even given us a glimpse of anything in those appearances, or his longer run outs to suggest that he deserves more. He looks utterly devoid of merit at present. Perhaps Foolham will give us 250k for him? We should bite their hands off if they did. I don't see how we would be able to take him seriously if that happened. His position would be untenable in my view.
