Congratulations and greetings to all workers here on our international day!

Happy Labour Day to all our friends in countries where they’re not awkward like we are and actually celebrate it on May 1.

It all started as a protest by workers wanting an 8 hour day.

It’s sad that all these years later, workers are still exploited so much.

 

In some of those countries if a holiday falls on a weekend it doesn't get transferred to the Monday like we do here. So there is a benefit to the way we do it.

 

Yes, quite. Struck me as an odd complaint given how few public holidays we have in this country.

 

We're lucky to have it at all I suppose.

Didn't Maggie want to turn it into Churchill Day or Falklands Day or something?

 

TBH Clive, I'd rather have something in late June/early July! Or maybe... in addition?
