Managed to get a job with Lincoln city. They are currently 16th in the blue square prem. With no wage budget or transfer budget. Hopefully I won't get sacked after 5 months.

 

Just got back from a month round travel round Europe and miss the game badly. Anyone got any recommendations for a save on a transfer update? Was thinking either Portsmouth or Villarreal but would like to hear some suggestions.

 

1860 Munich.

In the Bundesliga 2 (unless you use a transfer update), have a huge stadium and a potential huge fanbase, a long term game to topple Bayern and re-instate 1860 as the club of the country.

I'll post up some screenshots from my FM12 save later, I started as a ficticious Portuguese manager and started at Bolton, won domestic cups and Europa League before getting the Barcelona job, dominated the world for four seasons and resigned, joined Roma who'd been relegated to Serie B, got them promoted and after 7 years ended up with 3 successive Champions Leagues and left a legacy. Took the Watford job (who were mid table in the EPL) and after quite a long time there, I've won countless titles, European trophies and the 6 touted favourites for 'World Player of the Year' were all mine. My star striker I've had since 16 years old is now 26, he's scored 149 goals in 95 caps for England (I'm England manager) and he's scored 450+ league goals in his career already.

My chairman is Jaroslav Drobny (former Czech goalkeeper), he's not a sugar daddy unfortunately. Watford Stadium was built 3 seasons ago and has since been expanded to 65K all seater now.

 

That is an unbelievable save, please do post some shots of these players!

I actually had a great save as 1860 earlier on this year so can't be them, decided to go for Valencia, need to topple Madrid/Barcelona.

 

Bangor Celtic:

In the year 2021 now coming towards the end of the season which could be the 6th straight Irish Premier League title in a row. 2nd place is Cork City funnily enough.

I've managed to get to the Champions League group stage twice now, netting £6.5m both times. When the prize money for the league is £200k, it is a MASSIVE boost and we can live off that for a few years at least. I'm one game away from making it 3 group stages and another £6.5m in the bank. Only won 2 games in the group stages, one against Juventus and the other against Schalke. Most of the time we get annihilated but I don't care, the money is great.

I don't have very many Irish players, mainly Czech U-21 hopefuls. All of whom get their minds blitzed when Kilmarnock or whoever come in with a bid and want to leave so I have a high turnover.

Watford are in League 2 and flirted with relegation last year. Somehow Dyche is still in charge! I am tempted to jump ship and join Watford on the road to the Prem

 

Personally I think you should join Watford and try and get them to the premiership, but if you're happy at cork stay there.

 

Or do both. Save the Cork game as one file, take the Watford job and do another Save. Then you can always go back to it.

I'm not with Cork, I manage Bangor Celtic (Dublin) but I get your point. I was planning on moving but Dyche has just got them promoted to League 1 so he's not going to lose his job anytime soon.

Incredible side you have there Prentice! The last guy looks... interesting... but has an incredible record!

 

Those two really demonstrate Fergal Rooney's power. His history screen only shows league goals, the all time best XI includes Cup/European games.

Found it! - Under options

 

See the button to the left of Continue, just says FM? The one that leads you to Preferences etc, it's in there as Hall of Fame.

 

Out of interest, that Cardiff score.... "Watford Stadium" - gather they moved out of The Vic?

 

Yeah, happened shortly after I became manager in 2022 or whenever it was, usually they name it after a club legend. 'Watford Stadium' is a bit ... uncreative?

Was thinking that myself. I've never had a stadium move. Started with Watford and currently in 2018 winning Champions League etc, had the capacity increased once despite constantly selling out.

 

Hows your youth team players too? Despite having top facilities and coaches etc, my players never seem to develop much from my youth team. Any tips?

 

The framework of the game has 'ceilings' for stadiums, i.e. they can only be expanded to X to represent real life. Vicarage Road is 30,000.

When you get an average attendance of 28,500+ for a few seasons running the board (should it be financially viable) will decide to build.

My youth team are good,

Burke, Osman, Hedges, Sheffield, van der Burg in the screenies above came from my youth team.

Alfie Martin came through the youth setup at Bolton whilst I was there, quite happy to be re-united :biggrin:

I don't buy players anymore as I don't need to, and I make shedloads of money so all my facilities have been maxed out.

 

Managed to get Lincoln from 19th in blue square prem (when I took over) to 7th in 20 games. Now in my first full season with Lincoln and this is my current first team

I need to get playing this again. Prentice your game makes me envious, but I just don't think I have the time to invest any more for an epic game like yours. You also seem to very good at FM on a regular basis, what's your secret? I'm generally poor to average, I can get a team up from the Blue Square South/North to about League 1 then flatten out. I can't go any further. What's the key? Do you go into all the settings in detail? Look up each oppo team to see how they play? I just can't be arsed, maybe that is my problem.

 

I've just always had the knack for CM/FM, right from when when I first started them.

 

Been making the most of my summer vacation by spending vast amounts of time playing FM. Put in a 9 hour shift on the flight back to Houston on Monday. Took Crewe from L2 to the Premier League, won the title and then accepted a Job offer from Barcelona. Looking forward to giving La Liga a good seeing to before moving onto Italy.

Incredible work Prentice, making it all the way to 2030 is pretty amazing.

 

Reckon we should get an online game going? i.e on a day we are all free for a couple of hours , we can all join a skype call and play fm, pending we can find a mutual time for everyone

 

Only issue I see there is everyone goes at their own pace, like I always have FM running 24/7 and just play it sporadically, or whilst I'm doing other things so it takes me ages to get anywhere, that game above I started last year sometime. Whereas I have friends who can smash out seasons in an afternoon and after so far don't even bother playing cup games, just holidaying them.

 

I'd definitely be up for a network game, I've forwarded my ports to do so with friends, so would be happy to host.

 

That's very kind of you. Do you use hamachi ? And also we would all need to be using the same database for this to work. Since you are willing to host , want a cap on how many players in the game. And Bagsie/shotgun Watford , I really can't play with any other team!

There is an option for a 'force continue' for everyone , if you cap like every continue button to say 2/3 minutes there shouldnt be a problem. Or say if the majority are ready then we can continue
