David Villa > Torres. I still love Torres and am looking forward to seeing him in the prem next season. Voted good.

The lad has never scored more than 20 goals a season, and he has only reached the 20 goal mark once in the past 6 years. In the last couple of years he has scored less than 15 goals. If Liverpool want a man who will score bundles of goals and win the league for them, this guy isn't the man imo.

However theres no doubt he is a class player and I can't wait to see him in action.

I will most likely be wrong but I have never really rated him and think for the amount of money they have paid, it is a terrible signing. He is not the quickest player I have seen and actually reminds me a little bit of Fernando Morientes, who we all know had a shocking spell there.

If I was a Liverpool fan, I would be a more than a little worried about the number of Spanish/Spanish speaking players they now have, what would happen if Benitez left, would they all go as well?

morientes, thats the one, he turned out crap.

I too would be concerned, Im not racist at all, but id dislike having that many spanish players in a squad, its an english team, or is it? If benitez goes, then i agree- the majority of spanish players would probably leave as well.

Also you've got to remember he's still only 23 and has been playing in a inconsistent Atletico Madrid side and still been doing enough to get noticed.

Also read that the amount speculated the paid for him isn't accurate and it was in fact less, totalling the deal to be in the price range of Darren Bent's move to Spurs. Who would you rather? :p

i reckon good but we shall have to wait and see all foreign players adapt differently so its a waiting game though he cant be worse than morientes he was absolutely terrible

I think he will be a good player for Liverpool as it will give them a number 1 striker. The problem with Shevchenko is that he was used to playing up front for AC Milan on his own and then he came to Chelsea and was asked to play alongside Drogba.

He stood out in the World Cup in Germany so he should do well in the Premiership, I agree with the earlier post that David Villa is a better player, but Torres is still a quality signing.

Whether he appears as a good player or not will depend on his serivce from Midlfield, Athletico play the ball on the floor and play a very fast game, Liverpool either use hoof ball or use the wingers, so it remains to be seen.
