Could one of the Estonians on here please tranlate this for me thanks http://www.sloleht.ee/index.aspx?id=233330 Nak108
You want to ask Hartvix as he's a 28 year old striker/defender playing in Norway. It looks like at the bottom of this text, that he has been linked to a club in England http://www.fredrikstadfk.no/index.php?option=com_joomleague&func=showPlayer&p=1&pid=18&Itemid=0 And for the 2+2=5 among the board, Elton's playing a concert at their stadium in 2 weeks time
Shortly: Watford are (very) interested in Estonian defender Raio Piiroja. Watford scout has watched Raio in the past four games (Estonian national team games). Watford will make a decision in 2 weeks. In my oppinion "Piraaja" would be a great choise for The Hornets hi has a good header and his a outstanding "fighter". He never gives up. Theres some other clubs interested in Piiroja also including some Priemiere Legue club to. But Watfords interest is serious. My English is quite bad but i hope you understand.
C&P From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Raio Piiroja (born 11th July 1979) is an Estonian footballer, who plays for Norwegian Tippeligaen club Fredrikstad F.K. and plays the position of centre-back. He is a regular in the Estonia national football team with over 60 caps to his name. He started his career in Pärnu before joining FC Flora Tallinn under then manager Teitur Thordarson. He then joined Vålerenga IF in Norway on loan before signing a permanent contract with Fredrikstad. In his latest season, 2006, he scored two goals in the Norwegian Football Cup final against Sandefjord Fotball in a 3:0 victory. Apparentley Sunnderland are rummoured to be intersted in him? Maybe we should have a punt?
Your English is anything but bad, its rather good if I do say so myself. Only a small percentage of people on here will be able to speak fluently in another language. (i'm expecting the likes of Bubble and Fan to come and prove me wrong now )
Sheep ain't a ****ing language! Its known as Welsh you ****ing idiot. I suppose you're fluent in Urdu?
Rise? Never heard that before. Don't you think the old sheep jokes are old anyway? Get a ****ing life u ****
there is no reason for knowing urdu, it was just a continuation of cude's request for some fluent urdu, which i sort of supplied
Piiroja is a good centre back. Tall and strong, and with a nice habit of scoring goals. He was his team's best player last year here in Norway, won the Player of the Year award in Estonia and decided the Norwegian cup final pretty much on his own. Should have no problems adapting to the English leagues. I don't know his contract situation, but if it's not due to expire soon I think Fredrikstad will demand £1.5-2M for him. He's also been linked to Sunderland lately.
That sum is just a guess from me, but it's usually what top-tier Norwegian clubs want for their star players. The fact that more clubs are after him should increase his value even further and Fredrikstad's young striker Tarik Elyounoussi has been linked with some top clubs in England in a £3-4M deal. If that deal goes through they surely don't want to sell Piiroja unless they get a good deal. Is he worth £2M ? I'd say "maybe". He would surely be rock solid in the Championship, but then again I think our current center backs will do a very good job here as well. If Shittu is sold I'd definitely get Piiroja as a replacement. It's hard to say how Piiroja would do at a higher level (i.e. Premiership). If we really want a good center back, though, we should get Brede Hangeland from FC Copenhagen. Very tall (6' 6" I think) but also very pacey and plays the best passes I've seen from a center back in a long time. Has been the best player in Euro 2008 qual for Norway by _miles_ and made Priskin look like an academy player. Would probably cost £3-4M, though ...
There is an article about Piiroja published in a Norwegian newspaper today where he is confronted about the Watford rumours: http://www.f-b.no/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070609/FFK/106090059/1020/AKTUELT Raio Piiroja confirms that he has knowledge about the Watford rumours and doesn't conceal the fact that it would be an exciting club to join. "I know they were relegated from the Premiership this year, but it would be a nice challenge to try and help them get back up. But until that may happen, my focus is on Fredrikstad. That's how it's supposed to be and I really look forward to playing against Rosenborg", said Piiroja last night before he went fishing. Interesting ... that game between Rosenborg and Fredrikstad is in my city today, maybe I should go see it.
I almost failed miserably already as I misread the fixture list, the game is not tonight - it's tomorrow
Calm down Cudey, go to the pub, have a nice cold beer and chill out in the beer garden my welsh friend. :rolleye1::rolleye1:
I love that. "before he went fishing" :]]:]] Why can't English players do something like that? All we get is "before he got arrested for DUI" "before he released a homosexual sex tape" "before he got charged with GBH" :dismay:
According to reports he played good as well. I was watching Formula One, though. And what a race it was.
Only the one he got today. He's only played 5 of the 9 games so far this season, as he was recovering from an operation during the first four games. Has scored 2 goals, though.
Certainly last night din t do any harm. But im quite sure that Watford will make an offer to him. After all Sunderland is also interested of him, but Watfords interest is serious.
