Ridiculous, whats the point in the qualifiers? I seen The Republic of Ireland also won 11-0 and Scotland got beaten by Spain 8-0. Its like childrens football.
I am an advocate of pre-qualifying rounds for international tournaments for men's as well as women's football because the lesser country gets nothing out of being hammered. But we also have to appreciate that the women's game is still at a very early stage of development for all but the few top countries in the way that the men's game was in the late 19th/early 20th century. There were similar large margins of victory in the men's game back then and it took many decades for lots of countries to become competitive. As recently as the 1980s, African countries were unable to compete with European or South American ones.
The Davis Cup is being held at present with only the top 16 nations competing. The qualifying events for both men and women in football are beyond useless. Pre qualifying is essential for any credibility.
When I saw 20:0 I thought that was the kick off time And not sure how scorelines like the above will encourage girls to take up the game in non professional countries Yes , well done England ladies but if that were Harry Kane and co. I'm not sure the pundits would be so gushing
The men’s game is not that different. Unless we’ve all forgotten that England used the San Marino game to statpad 10 past a bunch of milkmen a couple of weeks back. But isn’t Harry Kane just the best?
