A good win with Heskey and Barry the two best players on the pitch despite the stadium announcer giving SWP man of the match which is silly. Israel were sh*te and how McClaren could give the home support credit after the game is beyond me. All in all a pleasing 3 points, same team for Wednesday please.
That's not a problem with the fans, that's the non-fans who aren't interested in football and stayed in the bar. That's Wembley's fault for flogging seats to get early money in during the construction.
Actually the fans were very vocal tonight - especially at the end that SWP scored at. Heskey played well but should have scored, Owen's goal was class and Micah Richards just looks like a machine every match he plays.
Unless you were there you wouldn't know. The atmosphere was excellent - most of the stadium was singing - Israeli supporters were good as well. It was very good and the fans did England proud. We played well against a poor team and Heskey was superb. As for being in the bar - there is no alcohol served at qualifying games
did anyone see how hard Maclaren clonked SWP round the head when he come off, had me in stitches, one of his best games and is supposed to get a friendly like tap but i think Maclaren done it a little too hard. :]]

Was right next to the singing section, was very loud Isreal were crap, i thought Heskey did quality, won nearly every header, tracked back and just made a nuisance of himself. I think i saw the lad on here with the yellow trainers if you were in the corner where SWP scored; by the band.
Emma...yes that was me glad you enjoyed it, your area had a great atmosphere - the national anthem sounded immense when the crowd sung it.
My thoughts exactly. SWP was everywhere and I'd have given him MOM too, but Heskey did very well and should keep his place. Alcohol was a dissapointment, served at friendlies but not qualifiers??? Good to see the new Wembley has taken over the tradition of the old Wembley with rivers of p155 running out of the toilets. Some things will never change :dismay:
A very easy win. Good to see Heskey,SWP and Barry take their chances with decent performances. Roll on Russia...they will be much tougher!
Heskey did a great job as I said he would (as did a few others)...brought the best out of Owen today...he looked sharpest he has for 2-3 years now!
That surely only applies to 'football fans' and not to the Club Wembley members? I've just had yet another letter begging me to become a member of the Corinthian Club. These are the empty seats near the half-way line behind the players seats that are so visible on TV. As well as the seat for 10 years it includes champagne arrival drink, pre-match 3 course fine dining, half-time drinks, post match buffet, beer, wines, soft drinks and toilets that don't overflow. ( I made up the bit about the toilets.) If you are telling me I wouldn't have been able to get my 'free' beer and wine at events like yesterday's I definitely won't be joining!
it was a very good win, roll on the russians where i shall i have a ticket for wednesday game , i hope the same team i dont care that crouch is back and possibly lampard the players that played yesturday played well and should keep their place
I watched the Scotland game before the England game and having seen the posts on here about it, it made me laugh when the commentator said "The Hampden Roar is noticeable by its absence"
