Again, you clearly don't remember the 1st leg, we came up against Myhill in inspired form, producing several world class saves.

We were unlucky not to draw level in the 1st leg and unlucky in the 1st half of the 2nd leg.

So you need to get your facts straight.

Or we were robbed by the referee and unlucky not to win.

Boothroyd did try and change things but it was too late.

People just got fed up in the next season when we kept on losing silly games and playing the Boothroyd brand of football.

Long ball stuff will work if the team are playing well and winning...its ugly if your not which is Dyche's problem.

No-one was that fussed when we had King and Henderson leading us to promotion.

BTW I do remember being pretty unlucky in that 1st game and as HG says a silly mistake got Hull going in the 2nd.

2 of their goals came late on I remember.

I would very happily take Boothroyd over some of the other names that I have been hearing are on Bas' target list for Dyche's potential replacements.

It shows how shyte Dyche is when some of us are calling for Aidy to return. Atleast we'd avoid relegation with Boothroyd and that at the moment is a good enough reason for me!

I share your pain. I for one do not want Hoofroyd to return, but after Saturday's shower of .... I would gladly have him in charge compared to what we currently have.

All I can say at the moment is that it is another ex-player with absolutely no managerial or coaching experience who ended his career with us over a decade ago.

Really wouldnt want to see Boothroyd back at the vic. Talks a good game, but he would take us down for sure. The last few games under him where awful and the defending sunday league at best.

Oi, my sunday league team had very good defence! only conceded about 6 per game. We still won though :D

Used to play for Bushey Rangers. Our age group disbanded after people decided to play elsewhere.

    Erm...he also got us promoted.

How do you know he 'would take us down for sure', do you have some insight into different dimensions in time and space where this is true in alternate universes?

No, you don't so please don't make silly statements which you can't back up with proof. He got us promoted and to the playoffs...so by your flawed logic I am making the statement he would get us promoted...however my statement has more to back it up than yours.

Billy Davies spent last season moaning that the Forest board wouldn't give him any money to spend. Whereas at Watford ....

Boothroyd saved us from relegation once, I wonder if we need him to do it again. People talk about hoofball etc, yet I don't recall a youthful Ashley Young having the ball pumped high to him all the time.

I believed in all the players when Boothroyd was in charge, even in our disaster Premier League season. Now, I care about as much as the players do. All the talk about Dyche and his tough guy image/stance, I think he's just a very poor mans Holloway. Without the laughs.

Not Davies, I can't stand him. He exhibits all of the worst behaviour of Warnock. I really can't see GT recommending him.

This is clearly a very testing time for Dyche. I think he’s lucky in the fact we are away for the next two matches, so the fans will not be so hostile towards him. Regardless of results in these games, the team has to show massive improvement.
If Watford play well, create chances and generally compete but lose, then I wont have a problem in keeping the manager. Believe me, it’s in Watford’s best interest to keep him and make a success of it. However, if there is no improvement in performances, then I think by the time we’ve played Peterborough, someone else has to come in. This doesn’t necessarily mean we have to sack Dyche though. The fans don’t ask for much really. They are a tolerant bunch and just want to see their team compete and remain in the Championship. It’s NOT a tall order. If success and good football come along the way all the better, but we are realistic enough to know where we are as a club right now. But with the players we have, I would feel we have massively underachieved if we are relegated.

It was GT that recommended Dyche & Bassini agreed to it. GT's role was as a conduit between the boardroom & the football team ie, players & coaches etc

Whether you can stand him or not look at his record in the championship

    Preston - Playoffs - twice
    Derby - Promotion
    Forest - Playoffs - twice

You can not dispute that the feller has the knack of getting results and getting teams to play for him

Was told earlier that if Dyche does get the sack, Graham Westley would very much be on the top of our shortlist and that he was close to being appointed in the summer.

Graham Westley? No thanks. Another manager who loves trying every cheating trick in the book. He's not a 'Watford' type man.

He has been at the helm for almost 5 months.

Please tell me of any progress we have made? Are we any better now than we were all that time ago against Boreham Wood?

No! We are worse! At best, we are the same. Clueless, no plan, no purpose, no imagination, no creativity. In fact, we don't even have basic attacking moves nailed down. We literally have no idea what we are doing. In all other circumstances I am the first to say stick with the manager, you get nowhere with knee-jerk reactions.

This is an exceptional case. To not progress one jot in 4 and a half months is madness. Just being able to pick up the ball, string a few attacking passes together with a bit of intent and get a shot away would be good enough. There is nothing. A quarter of the way through the season, with two months of pre-season added on, we have not become any better in anything we do, and Dyche's only answer is to make the squad bigger! We don't need more players, we need some proper attacking training where we know what to do when we are going forwards and we have a plan to score goals!

Our plan is the same as it was four months ago: pass sideways, then hoof it somewhere into the channels, nowhere near any runs that are being made, and hope that something miraculous happens and we score a goal. There is no thought, and there never will be. Dyche has essentially said that he won't be changing as his only answer is to add more players to the squad, which is already if anything too big, as our academy kids aren't getting a look in.

Sorry Dyche, I like you and I hope you stay as a coach or something, but you have done an awful job and if you aren't going to chance, or can't change, then we have to force that change. Otherwise it is goodnight Vienna.

Shorely if we lose even 2 or 3 nil tommrow, 4 straight defeats without scoring, he has to go? I mean what kind of hope can you take from that scoring no goals
