Do we thank our stars King got injured?

If we had a fit King for the season I don't think we'd be in the position we are now. I know that one man doesn't makes a team but his finishing skills would I'm sure helped us pick up more points and the confidence that would come with it.... even Hendo may of picked up a couple of goals.
If we did have more points and say were mid table would we still of made 10mil on a sale of Ashley Young? Mid table above Villa Young not standing-out with his skills because King would be upstaging him with his goals (west ham) and others in the team playing with confidence. Young would not of looked like a £10mil player (not that i think he did but thank you Villa) he'd of not stood out as much as he did.
We will miss Ash but I'm sure in the long term the 10mil for him will help strengthen our team and help with our main objective which is premiership consolidation by 2010.
Just looking for positives from negatives.
I think I've listened to too many Aidy interviews

If we were mid table then we would have a better chance of Premiership consolidation than getting relegated with 10million in the bank account. ???

if we were mid table with marlon, we wouldn't have sold ash anyway.

We would be in line for a £30 million pay day for staying in the prem and still have Ashley.

so to say we would "perhaps be better off" is talking utter kack!!!!

I certainly dont thank my stars king got injured. Our 'star striker' would have scored a few goals at least- he definatel has the quality to do so, we'd probably be higher up the league.

But we cannot keep blaming his injury for our league position. We are not a one man team, but he certainly was a key part to our premiership survival.

Bonkers thread. What next "would we be better off if Aidy went to manage Man U because then we wouldn't expect so much"

Would we be better off if we'd lost on Tuesday, 'cos then we'd know for certain that we'd be relegated?
Would we be better off if Luton had gone up last season and we were 5th bottom of the Championship?
Would we be better off if Robbie Savage had not broken his ankle?

The game Ash has shone the most so far this season was in our game at home against Fulham, which King was also playing in!!!

King and Young worked very well together. If anything Ash would have got even more goals and assists with King also in the team.

So this "being outshone" theory is a load of nonsense (they would both have been worth a lot if we were mid-table).
