Dear Adminny People

I am assuming you have some sort of constitution/standard operating procedures/ rules and regulations that is/are consistent.

Can you tell me, please, what is the cut off point critera/criterion for your closing a thread? Is it because:

-you cant follow it?
-the degree of tangent from the original post is +/- a defined number of degrees?
-someone has bleated to you because they've made themselves look a bit silly?
-you don't like the subject matter?
-you don't like the poster?
-you've gone into your secret chitty chatty room and decided to be arbitrary because you can and it's amusing?
-something else?

I'm just arrrskin' because I'm interested.

Case by case, but usually a mixture if the above.

If it was about the poster, we'd never have any threads on here :biggrin:

 

If I closed every thread because I didn't like the poster there'd be very few threads.

It turned into a childish slap fight of sorts at the end with one word against another with no substantial evidence either way. 'Twas funny, yet rather sad.

I just start laughing at the sight of it.

 

The Bristol Thread (Closed) went onto "I'm a bigger fan than you are because I'm older"

 

It went off topic. I'd normally start wielding the mod stick when insults are hurled but everyone gave as good as they got.

We're not sad enough to read every thread & post so do rely on everyone to report anything they think is a bit off.

 

I'd like to report this post please. How do I go about doing that?

I've happily found that the block function works very nicely.
