It all good people saying they would rather sell the deadweight rather than the better players. But how much do you think they would fetch: Poom 100K if your lucky. Eustace 150K :S McAnuff 500K etc, not really alot is it, and who would buy!? No one in are lague would, even though sum1 took kabba off r hands oh and ellinglump!?
Yes, you may not gain much in terms of transfer fees recieved...however, you'll save a lot on wages though!! Poom for example is allegedly on 10k a week!! I can't imagine players like Williams, Kabba, McAnuff, Eustace & Bangura are on poor money either!! I would personally sell the 'deadweight' and O'Toole to raise a little more capital...have to keep Smith though!
surley wages are taken into consideration at the begining of the season giving the overal expenditure for that year on sallary, based on who you have at the time, deductions are made once you sell a player and their remaining wages go back in the kitty. selling someone will in the long run save you money but in the short term getting transfer money is surley better for balancing the books. If what you say is right about poom i would rather sell or terminate his contract and use some of that money to offer a new deal to smith.
Cardiff and Crystal Palace will fight it out for Watford midfielder Jobi McAnuff, who has been told he can leave the cash-strapped Hornets in January for £1m. (Daily Mirror)
