I hate to say this but if Danny is not fit today I think that Wigan will turn us over Heskey gave us a tough time up at their place and he is showing signs of coming into form - Malky was awful against him. Boozer has been our only spark up front recently and now we will again look very ordinary. Quite how we are favourites to win this game is beyond me. I just hope that I am so wrong. I think it could be a real chance for Mariappa to shine, that's if he plays Doyley at RB and shifts AM inside. He's strong quick and potentially has the ability to deal with Heskey. Losing Bouazza is a massive blow and as far as i'm concerned it's about time Young started putting in some decent performances. He's been fairly non-existent the last few games and a match against Wigan is one he should really be making a mark on.
True Chewitt, Young needs to step up his performances to the high level we need him to perform at if we are going to pick up some points. Bouazza is a big loss, so I am wondering whether Aidy will go with Macca today..
Wigan are a physical side and i feel it's not Macca's sort of game, we've seen him get lost in games like today's too many times and i'd like to see Powell back in at left back and push Stewart up to left wing in his "best" position. Regardless of weather Macca plays or not i think Powell should come in at left back.
It's a good shout, but I have been privately wondering why Powell hasn't played more games for us this season..
IMO i feel that he should put Young back into the midfield and put Smith up front with Priskin today.. Priskins speed will defenitely be an advantage and smith has the experience, be the feeder and the protection that i feel priskin needs. I do not think he should start Hendo, as was shown against the Arsenal we play so much better without him... shame theres no Bouazza though. I am getting ready to head off now for the game and I have a good feeling about it. COME ON YOU ORNS!!
