Presumably the part that involved 'running a little bit'. Or maybe he just misunderstood Claudio's demand that he 'fill the space between the left touchline and the CB'.
Been saying he's finished as a footballer for the last two years and got called up on it as a "ridiculous opinion". When you lose heart in something you never get those levels back.
In fairness. I think at least 50% on here were against it if not more. I was against it, but mainly due to his comments about not being able to wait to get out of football, which to me was a humongous red flag. I brought this up, but was told he did great work with the spurs youth team and therefore must be a nice guy. There were of course people who said it was great signing based on the player he was on the past, but you were a long, long way from being a lone voice on it.
I’ll put my hand up and say I was in favour of the move and really hoped he could recapture some form. But my opinion swiftly changed when it was clear he wasn’t going to get in any kind of shape. My original optimism was also somewhat based on the fact that I knew Masina wouldn’t be up to it at this level either. I just didn’t bank on Rose miraculously being worse…
I find it easier to tolerate players who are crap, but seem to at least give a ****, e.g. Masina and Ekong, than I do those that can't be arsed.
Masina is a serial battle-shirker. Lost count of the games where he’s thrown the towel in - but I accept it’s a trait he’s shown less of this season. But I will never, ever forget West Ham away in the relegation season. This season has seen some similar efforts from players - but none in the game as important as that.
Talking about Doig has raised a genuine question for me: - Are Scottish, Welsh and N I players classed as home grown or do they fit into the foreign player group, I think they are home grown but I am not entirely sure?
Requirement to qualify is three years at an English league team (which includes non-English clubs that are attached to the league like Cardiff) before the age of 21. So no, players at Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish league clubs do not quality. The nationality of the individual player doesn't matter, though, it's simply a case of being trained at an English league club.
So to me that sounds like if we were to sign Doig for instance he would be classed as part of our foreign contingent of players even though he is only 19 and would not have to be included in the 25 man squad to play, or is that wrong? I am just asking as I am thinking of the number of overseas players we are allowed or does that just apply to the 25 man squad? On reflection I think it does just apply to the 25 man squad, so that would mean we could indeed sign Doig without affecting our foreign player quota, which would be good news if I am right?
Yes a player can be any nationality if they are under 21, they don't count towards the overseas limit as they don't need to be named in the 25 man squad.
It was a disgusting performance from Masina, one that i’m surprised some have seemingly forgotten about. Likewise, I don’t think I can ever forgive him for it.. He let both the club and Pearson down massively in that game.
Off the top of your head can you remember who posted it? I'll send them a bunch of flowers for pinching their gag
My lawyer says I am due financial compensation rather than a token £5 bunch Tesco flowers. However I’ll let it go just this once.
Yeah that was absolutely bleak Im not sure it is a case of him not giving a **** though - he just doesnt seem to be particularly mentally strong. He he has games where something seems to happen and it is like he is a deer in the headlights - Liverpool this season rings a bell.
We won't need any help to lose against the FA Cup holders, even if we had enough fit first teamers available, we'll field a team of reserves to make sure we're knocked out of the Cup at the first opportunity, yet again. At least we're getting knocked out by a good Premier League side and not being knocked out by teams like Millwall or Tranmere this season. A pity we're having such a carp season in the League as I'd love us to have a good go at trying to win the FA Cup. Unfortunately, we'll have to "Opt out" again. Prediction; 4-0 to Leicester.
Tbf I'm sure Holebas did something similar at some point? I doubt anyone would turn down a similar player to him now!
Iirc Holebas went down looking for a fk, letting an opposition player assist a goal a few years back?
I thought we were talking about Masina being an overall shirker, and bottleing entire matches, rather than an isolated incident.
This is fair. My point being, it's been a while since we've had real battlers in the team. Holebas is considered by many to be one of our tougher players, in recent years. I think Masina panics, but still appears to try much harder than the likes of Rose, Pererya etc
Holebas was trying to use the dark arts to trick the ref into giving a free kick. Of course our drooling fan base were outraged, when the reality was we needed more of our players to do things like that in the modern game.
Holebas was only signed by bundling him in the back of a car and kidnapping his family. He was only released by the club after bundling Gino into the back of his car and kidnapping his family. We miss that fight.
To be fair to the club, there was no way of predicting this would happen... https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...y-Rose-courts-controversy-frozen-Watford.html
