In March 2009, Rose went on loan to Watford for the remainder of the 2008–09 season.[26]Watford manager Brendan Rodgers described Rose as a "highly talented, committed player" who possesses "good energy and real intelligence with the ball."[27] He made his debut in Watford's 2–1 away victory at Doncaster Rovers on 4 April 2009.[28]

Those citing the "committed player" / "has commitment" (depending on crap source) quote should note it was made when Mr Integrity, and massive fan of Liam Bridcutt, was trying to bring Rose in, i.e, before he had played for Watford.

Well, let's just sign everyone on the basis of their stats then.

Why? Malts never said he said before or after Rose arrived. You just assumed that. Irrespective - why does it matter?

So it’s a crap source because it says something you don’t like/agree with?

I did yes but I’m not basing this signing on one game.

Am I the only one who remembers Holebas having far more s**t games than good games for us?

He went on a nice run near the end of his time at the club for half a season (so I’m putting this down to recency bias), but overall had a poor attitude and cost us far more goals through poor tracking back or through lapses of concentration then he created.

He was fine-ish, but not even close to our best premier league signing.

Blimey. Didn’t realise it was 1940s Germany. But nah, key word was supposedly - and was tweeted by an account one of the Watford scouts follow

Just regarding what Duxbury said, he said we lost our way signing established premier league players. He was basically referring to Welbeck who we signed on a free on a 2 year deal. He didn’t specifically mention length of deals/wages, but Rose is on the same length deal and more than likely will be on similar wages to wellbeck, he’s a similar age and has been injured for a year.

I don’t actually have a problem with this signing, but despite how anyone now tries to rewrite it, this is a direct contradiction to what he said.

Holebas was a law unto himself sometimes. I'll never forget the penalty he gave away to Bournemouth when he inexplicably decided to punch the ball out of play when it was already harmlessly going out of play without his help. And waant Holebas the vicitim of a mysterious eye lash injury that saw us concede? If Rose doesn't cost us 2 or 3 needless goals like that a season then I would say he's an upgrade.

Because he was angry all the time fans mistook that as him caring more than other players, so he got a pass for being a mostly terrible player. He also gets held in a higher regard purely because of our paucity of dead ball takers in recent years, even though his were routinely awful with the odd good one here and there.

Yes he did have a quick lie down as Huddersfield scored.

So did Kabasele mind you at Bournemouth!

A lot of people seem to be saying we have already signed Danny Rose, but have we actually signed him???

Slept on it, and while I'm not convinced, I can see the logic behind it. Let's face it, there won't be many big sexy deals this summer, it'll be punts like this where we just have to hope that smily Xisco can get a tune out of him

Would rather have rose over young. Both are upgrades on Masina and better than Doig, albeit the latter has significant potential

He's better than Lazaar so we've made our backup stronger and could also be better than Masina as well. There's no transfer fee involved and from that Giaretta interview last week we know the club aren't paying stupid wages anymore. The performance based contracts he hinted at sound perfect for someone like Rose who is probably desperate to play some football.

He was once a good player. Concerned about his mental health history.
If he is on a free and on low wages, then perhaps it may turn out to be an ok signing.

I tend to agree after doing the same. He's got plenty of experience and could easily displace Masina. Which is what we wanted and needed.

If you reverse the first letters of his names, you get 'Ranny Dose', and then he sounds like he's South African. Have we ever had a South African play for us before?

  29. I thought he was good for us on loan years ago, is a decent player, and based on what's been said is a good egg.

2 year deal with a relegation clause presumably, seems sensible.

I really don't see the issue with this.

So the answer to my query is NO!!!

As the article you have shown me clearly says he has only agreed in principle and to expect an announcement next week IF COMPLETED!!!

    Thankyou for the information Chumlax.
