We need a keeper that is better than Gomes, not 'as good as' or worse because that would be a pointless signing. If we are looking to improve as a squad, we'll know we have when Gomes is on the bench. I'm not having a dig at him...It's just that he is getting old and he needs a quality replacement such as Neto, Patricio, Lafont, Meret who will at least give him competition... Unlike Pantilimon and Arlauskis who are reserve at best.

Realistically this would be for the U23s. He's home grown. Hes only 22, Looks a serious unit, likely as talented as Rene between the sticks but maybe more potential - It's a risk free punt.

Our owners are well aware that we need to invest in a new No 1. Look to be making good moves for that too.

Don't over read into links with players like these - We will always gamble on low risk potential like we did with Uche. Eventually one will work out and surprise us all.

He's not under 21. Not a gamble either, he's a very promising keeper.

 

Good squad freeing up signing. Presumably he's good enough that we won't have to name a third slightly-less-useless-over-21-foreign-keeper in the squad to guarantee that our really-useless-fourth-best-keeper won't have to actually go on the pitch!
