Yes. Doubt we will bowl out India but we have given ourselves a chance.
Great to see WI beat Aus by 8 runs. Wonder if Aus regret declaring with 9 wickets down in the first innings in a low scoring match ?

 

Somewhat reminiscent of Stokes declaring at Edgbaston last summer.

 

These two test matches remind me of why it’s my favourite format. Two brilliant games of cricket

Extraordinary even by recent standards set by Stokes and his team. Must have been a 1% chance of winning after the first innings.

 

Fantastic win, but who was our MotM, Pope or Hartley???

Quite a difficult decision as not only did Hartley take 9 wickets in the match, he also contributed with a decent number of runs in both innings.

Having said all that, if Pope had not kept us in it with his magnificent 196, Hartley probably would not have been able to produce his 7 wicket haul.

Therefore IMO Pope just edges it!!!

 

No highlights on any tv channel other than BT sport ???

 

Amazing that perhaps the 2 biggest disappointments in the first innings, pope (all at sea) and Hartley (expensive and few wickets) were such stars in the second innings.

 

It’s rather like deciding who made the greater contribution at Headingly in 1981: Botham for his 149 or Willis for his 8 wickets?

Yes would have been nice to catch a 40 mins highlights programme on TV though.

Pope also gave the bowlers some assistance with some fantastic catches up close, so I'd have edged it to him. Still, I can't argue with Hartley getting it, iron ******** on him after taking some flak in the first innings! Just goes to show, give our spinners a chance at home in the County Championship!
