Today was ******* Groundhog Day. Could have been forest or brizzle or almost any away game to date. Wtf are they thinking (“they” meaning anyone connected to the club). every pre-match interview is the same - we have learned from our mistakes, we are right up for the challenge, we need to step up - and then it is the same **** on the pitch. It doesnt matter what the system is or which team is picked. They are all utterly **** and can’t pass or control a ball. still ******* fuming
It had been said that Toney wanted to come to Watford from Peterborough, but board didn't rate him. Or was it down to Deeney?
I quite enjoyed the Sky commentators pointing out all the things that have been infuriating us for a long time. They were blunt in saying we're going nowhere with those performances. Most of the old boys like Mooney and Gifton haven't held back either, and Emma has given up trying to find positives in recent games. Anyone connected with the club is in utter disgust with where things are at. Gray's Pravda interview was the the cherry placed on top of the stinking turd.
The camera angle didn't pick it up, but he also had a tartan blanket over his legs & a flask of hot chocolate.
Not for the first time this season, i nodded off at half time. We're dreadful to watch, no gameplan and we just seem to wing it most weeks through a penalty. Sick of hearing pundits talk about our squad depth and firepower etc. We've played 28 games and have only looked decent in about 3 of them. Who knows what happened to the new shape we were told about? Leaving our best midfielder Hughes out today while Chalobah and Cleverley can't put their foot on ball and play a forward pass, playing Gray ahead of Pedro, and the Zinkernagel chap has hardly been given a chance which is baffling given the sh1te we've been served up recently. Xisco starting to look like a smile with fcuk all behind it. Objectively, it's insane to think most are calling for another change of manager but I'm finding it hard to disagree. We seem to have won by default this season as the quality of some other teams isnt great but we honestly look miles off Brentford, Swansea and Norwich. 1 goal from open play in the last 5 games, only 7 away goals all season, just the 3 away wins, all by the team with supposedly the best squad? Do me a favour... Simply put this team is not as good as we hoped. Overpayed, underperforming players who roll out the 'we know we can play better, another chance next game etc.' card post match but do absolutely fcuk all or show no passion or commitment on the pitch to even try convince supporters they mean the sh1te they say. How the hierarchy looked at this squad and thought we have enough about us to go up is mind blowing. I've no doubt we're constrained by finances, but who isn't, something more needed to be done. There's only so long you can keep rolling out the line of 'there's more to come from this group' before you really have to ask if there is? And if you think its ok to still be questioning that after 28 games i don't know what to say to you. So much to dislike. Another time the likes of Ben Fosters video wouldn't even enter my thoughts, but they way things have been, the last thing supporters want to see is his gurning face calling everything a 'little beauty' and everyone a 'legend'. But sure so long as he has dribbling virgins that support United and Chelsea liking and commenting on his videos he won't give a fcuk. I don't usually let myself get too excited when things are good or too downbeat when things are bad, but theres so much about the club and squad that make it very very difficult to be anything but critical and desperately disappointed right now.
That was as bad a performance as I’ve watched this season, and I’ve only not watched about 3/4 of our games. No passion, no desire, no willingness to put balls to the wall and do something. Hoof it forward or give it away- a midfield of Chalobah and Cleverley cannot play together. They don’t compliment each other at all. Ngakia, who’s been decent so far this season (when played in the correct position) was awful. Zinckernagel must think WTF have I joined- one of Europe’s most creative players last season and he can’t get in this shambles of a team. I love this team and will always be a Watford supporter but I’ve never felt so disconnected from the club. The impression we get is they just don’t care
Just caught Quest EFL. 6 of our players in our box with a Coventry on the ball just outside our the box. No one closed him down, he was allowed to shoot. Players just strolling around the pitch. Losing the ball and not bothered to win it back. We are in a terrible state on the pitch. We are awful. The players must be told to work harder, close down the opponents, win the ball back, distribute the ball better, play as a team and for each other. We are just looking like a pile of crap on the pitch. No one looks interested. They must be aware that they are considered to be utter rubbish right now. Get f**king moving on the pitch or get out of the club. If you don't want to play and put some real effort in to show that you want promotion or even win a game, then leave please the club.
I agree. Chalobah, not mobile, finished after his knee injury and Cleverley is over the hill. That midfield is too easy to bypass and cannot create a anything positive. Did you see Murray on Quest? Deeney could learn from him. He was running into space, harassing the defenders. He was not standing with his hands on his hips, blowing heavily and looking knackered after 10 minutes.
Can a mod please edit my post above? Posted it from the phone and it appears to have doubled up in some places. Make a big aul rant seem even bigger and confusing to read !
A blind chimpanzee knows that Chalobah and Cleverley can't play together but that doesn't matter to our tactical guru Señor Muñoz. He's determined to succeed where others have failed in making two midfielders completely incapable of making a forward pass play together.
Yeah have to say Coventry are looking the worst out of all of the teams down there except Wycombe in recent weeks. Rotherham, Forest, Sheffield Wenesday and QPR are all in the top 10 of the form table over the last 10 games.
The only possible thing to clutch desperately at like an abused spouse is that, after his half-time tweet showing that he was there and annoyed, Leventhal still hasn't said anything at all whatsoever in the ensuing 8 hours - he's the Watford correspondent of the biggest Watford corresponder in the country/world, he's a loud twitter voice and encouraged by that employer to be so, and has a known history of doing post game lives - now suddenly there's absolutely nothing. If I wanted to be desperately, pathetically optimistic, I might read something into that like him being embargoed on news of a change that's going to be announced another day/in the week, once the Pozzo have ensured they have a successor ready to come in. It's the hope that kills you, of course.
Somehow I still manage to psych myself up to watch our games, I’m not sure why I put myself through it. I just keep thinking how glad I am not having to travel to the ground to watch these sort of performances. The only positive to all us fans having to travel to watch this rubbish is being able to show the players how disgruntled we are with the way things are going at the club at the moment.
Are we sure he went back in after half-time? He might be wandering the streets of Birmingham grabbing strangers and screaming "WHY DROP HUGHES??"
One of the replies did suggest he start walking back to Watford right that moment. Have to assume he drove, so the sentiment is slightly off, but not entirely misguided.
I actually thought you were being very clever and had done that on purpose to make a point about our team repeating the same rubbish again and again
Looks and reads OK to me. Going backwards and repeat a clever metaphor for the game plan. Perhaps a bit more detail on the ‘dribbling virgins’ might help as you seem to be ITK.
I’ve been trying to keep calm, be rational and come up with a succinct way of expressing how I feel about my beloved football club through the frustration of one disappointment after another, promises of changes but nothing changing, and little hope of improvement.. For the quality of the Coventry game, the throwaway commentators comment on my stream summed it up perfectly - ‘The cutouts of people watching this from the stands are actually Birmingham City fans who must be wondering why on earth they are here..’ And for the season so far, this quote from 3000 on the Shoutbox couldn’t have put it better -
I'm sorry, but if those Birmingham fans saw our game against them and still decided to turn up for this game, they deserve all they get!
