Just re-read an old GT thread and thought "What a class act that man is..." and I turned to the BBC to see a photograph of another "class act":

Do any other metro readers have photographs of any other "class acts".

    He looks homeless.

I'm sorry but unless he physically assaults the referee, I fail to see how you can say he's been aggressive.

In fact, the referee probably had to come to him for the 'aggression' to take place.

I've not seen any highlights and I know they don't show this sort of thing on MOTD so don't try with no lies.

The sooner they adopt the rugby rules of not addressing the referee unless spoken to, or through your captain only and calling him sir, the better.
I would also have vido refs decisions for all goals & cards and give out 10 mins sin bin for a yellow.

I think he just said Vardy has got no class.

And are referees supposed to send someone off from a distance, so as not to aggravate the situation?

I referee rugby and I have to say I have great sympathy for anyone who referees Sunday league football; once a player called me an idiot, I sent him off; after the match he apologised profusely.

The sin bin thing for yellows, I would agree to an extent but if a player scores and takes his shirt off is that really worthy of 10 minutes off of the pitch?

No it isn't worth a yellow either. but then I've always wondered why they feel compelled to take their shirt off anyway.

You don't see that in women's football.

It's a learnt culture sort of thing. I've "done" three cohorts from tag (mini, u7) to full-contact (midi, u12). From day 1 the kids are taught "You can say one thing to a ref: 'Thank you sir/ma'am!'". The first time a kid gets lippy/sarky and sees a decision overturned or a 5m penalty they soon stop. But in balance I have to say that "soccer mums" are a nightmare - middle class "rugby mums" are even worse, especially when voicing their "well-thought-out" opinions during training drills and on tackling.

It may depend on the club, I've been coaching rugby for about 5 years now, I've not come across these middle-class mums with well-thought-out opinions before. You do come across over-zealous coaches from opposing teams but I suppose that's natural considering it's their team, something I've also been guilty of at times.

Fifa's weird interpretation of equality laws is exactly why it is a yellow card offence. Women can't do it so why should men!
