No rose tinted spectacles no believing in Santa Claus - we are going down and that at present is where we belong.

Im trying to think of one match where I can put my hand on my heart and say that we gave a resounding Premiership performance. Maybe Everton first match of the season but I certainly witnessed better displays last season.

Dont get me wrong Im happy to go back down , re group and possibly come back better & stronger with a squad capable of retaining consistent Premiership football.

With all the new signings its a case of to little to late and doubt if even Aidy after today's performance can create a squad capable of keeping us up.

I would in fact go as far to say that the worse thing that could happen to us now is that we stayed up only to go through the whole sorry affair all over again next season.

We need to re group in a league where our current players can preform and feel confident - something which we are not capable of at present. Use some money to attract the right players and look at a march into the Prem in two seasons time.

Disagree? Well this is what this boards all about!!

Cup matches dont keep you in the Prem - but yes I do agree with you.

    I dont entirely disagree.

I do believe we need to go back down because we just do not belong in the premiership at the moment! We are becoming star struck by everyone we play and cant keep using the excuse that "we were never gonna win against man u". Has everyone forgotten the 2-1 against man u? how we nearly had it 2-1 to us (but they scored like straight after ;D ) We need that oomph that we had at the start of the season, but without that we just need to go down to save us embarrassment.

in fact forget i said 'i dont entirely disagree', cus i agree with you 100% ;D

What concerns me is that after today's performance would we have turned Derby over 3 -0 and do we have the players to take on Palace and the likes of Southampton.Somehow I doubt it.

Worst case scenario is that we could go and do a Leeds god forbid.

Only thing I disagree on is that the worse thing that could happen is that we stay up. Because if, by some miracle, we stay up it would be the greatest and most unlikely comeback in Premiership history! ;D

The saving grace is that Luton might go down too :)

    Sorry but I disagree.
Staying up would just prolong the inevitable and and we repeat the whole saga all over again next season.

Championship football + investment + 2 seasons = promotion with a capable squad.

Came up too early...the only time I think we've put a team to the sword this season was Bolton away!

lets just hope when we start next seasons campaign in the championship that we dont think we are better than we was last time we was in there or we will do better because we have been in the premier league.
next seasons challenge will be very hard because the expectations of aidy and his players will be to get us straight back.

I'm hardly delighted about relegation and wish to see my side playing at the highest level. Relegation is a real shame.

arsenal at home was the one game when i though he looked like a 17th place at least team. i missed the bolton away game but from watching the sky highlights, we looked decent there as well.

as lond as i am entertained, i don't mind the league we are in to be honest. i would prefer in we stayed in the prem obviously but i can not take going home each week wound up swearing my head off, looking for a little bloke to have a fight with:)

    I disagree Tringy,

Providing we could all endure another season of being beaten up every week - we would collect another £30 million , and with that `serious money` even Collins John would want to join - then we could politely decline, and go for Crouch and Owen instead.;D
