When one of my sons was insured through A Plan I'm sure it was with a company which did deal a lot with young people. Problem is I had three sons and they are soooo much more expensive for car insurance that females. We must be doing something right:]]

Men have the accidents... Women just cause them through wreckless driving. FACT.

Hence why mens insurance is more than women :dismay:

Probably discrimination of the highest order.

Have you tried Admiral? THey were by far the best when I were a young menace to the roads. Of course, things change dramatically with insurance quotes, but I think they do specialise in younger drivers. Plus they've got that ***** in a sailor's uniform.

They gave me a quote of around 2,000 which is one of the better ones. The old man spoke to them for me as he is also with them, so tried to haggle it a bit.

I personally wanted Churchill, as I can impersonate really well. Even tried it down the phone and had the underwriter in stitches. "So you want Car Insurance?"..."Ahhhh Yes!" But alas their fully comp was cheaper than 3rd Party and still into the 2,500 mark.

Change your name to Cudita>2< and give Sheila's Wheels a call.

With a name like that I could probably claim some kind of racial discrimination too.

Looks like I got it all sorted. Paying just over 1.6k

Young drivers looking for Insurance I strongly advise Adrian Flux!

your be very lucky chris to get a quote for less than £1500 just for the simple fact is they dont like to give Insurance to young people as to many young people have crashes its not you but thats why they quote so high.

my mate up north i know its abit different but he was quote £1800 so he took them up on that offer passed his test and a week after he crashed and now he stuggling to get any Insurance thats just why they quote so high

its all about shopping around but because they know your young they will just quote you high

If the young people pay more than the car is worth, they are making a profit, thats where they make their money to give lower ones to adults, caus e they know 18-20 yo males will pay it.
if you start a complany, and the insurance is £1000-£2000, its often more than the car is worth, unless someones writing off a car every month than they would make a profit, the government should look into it, its exploitation

Cude is talking about 3rd party insurance so the value of his car is irrelevant. His is insuring against the damage he might do to someone else's car and body.

Ouch , to think it costs my wife £21.54 per month for a VW Golf GTI (not new)fully comp , with protected no claims.

Remember those days of being raped by the insurance companies , unlike 20 years ago it's near impossible to drive without insurance nowadays with digital cameras , so they know that they've got you by the short and not so curlies.

I was under the impression from my mum (who worked in the business until a couple of years back) that 'third party only' insurance had been all but obliterated in the modern market...?

That's what I understood. One of my sons did have a policy on that basis about 7 years ago but I think it was quite rare

Yeah, thank Goodness for company cars! I'm insured to drive anything and don't have any of the risk.

I can't believe Cude had to pay over 1600 pounds though. When I first insured my 1.3, D reg Nissan Cherry about 5 years ago, i was spitting nails that the best quote I got was about 500.
