Hard to think of any adequate loanees we could target if Dennis left. Might have to actually spend money. Maybe recruitment are really pinning their hopes on Bayo scoring the goals to get us up?
When/If one of the two leave we've already done a fair bit of leg work on a permanent HG striker so wouldn't worry too much about Archer now. Whether his goals will translate to the Championship is a whole different question - as it happens with a lot of the suitors now signing elsewhere I just can't see who comes in for either now. If Forest sign MGW then they are really running out of options.
Rhys Healey or Ike Ugbo would both appear to fit the bill - are those either of the names you’ve heard? But agree, looks like Newcastle, Everton, Leeds and Fulham are the only potential destinations left.
Oh dear - I see that now from yesterday. He was top of my list of HG strikers and would have been a good fit. Well I hope he wasn’t @YellowKicks striker that we’ve laid the groundwork for then!
I've heard we're signing a HG striker in the same way we're signing a HG centre back. In other words it ain't happening.
Our very own Lou orns saying this is incredibly likely now and Villa journo from Athletic saying likely to go out on loan and mentioned us. Would be a brilliant signing.
Davis and Archer would completely transform our team, especially as they might have a decent understanding already. They must have played together at Villa at some point surely.
I hope we can get this done. He and Davis would be a great combo for us. If Sarr doesn’t go there though then I cannot see them sanctioning it. Even if they signed a different attacker and wanted Archer to go on loan they won’t be short of suitors. Might just choose to spite us as they didn’t get their man.
I am incredibly excited at the mere prospect of this, but from what I've seen on Twitter I don't think it's quite that far ahead yet as Villa would need to sign a forward to give the green light for Archer to come here
i don’t think businesses think like that. They will choose a loan club where the player is most likely to improve. Through playing regularly, the coaching and support infrastructure. And, of course, the level of remuneration they get in terms of a loan deal. The Sarr transfer may impact the monetary cost to us of the loan, but the principle and decision on if Watford is a good place to develop the player would not be impacted.
Sorry to ask a question that’s no doubt been asked lots before, but what’s the maximum loans you can make from one club?
Oh well, that was a nice evening where that seemed possible again. Nevermind, I’m sure Bayo and Manaj will be fine at this level.
Don't think Sarr not going to Villa is the be all and end all, but it certainly would have helped. One thing's for sure, Gino has them on speed dial.
Well, how many senior forwards is RE likely to want,4? 5? We already have: Sarr, Pedro, Davies, Manaj, Bayo. Can only see one goalscorer coming in if both Sarr and Pedro leave...
Not sure. Think Pedro and Asprilla are our two ‘ten’ options behind the strikers. Maybe if our striker options aren’t as compelling he’ll go into the front two and Asprilla will play behind Pedro and Davis. I think we’ll need 6 all in all. 4 for the front 2 and 2 tens. We currently have 6 including Sarr and Pedro.
Clearly the plan was for Archer to come as part of the deal so does that mean you assumed Pedro would go too ?
