"When you get beaten by a team like Watford" - Ince's damning assessment of what Brighton needed to change.

Looking forward to what he has to say later on in MOTD

Not sure, seemed to play a bit more centrally and started to time his tackles better (think he'd committed 3/4 fouls in the first half). He wins the ball back a lot high up the pitch, really useful to slow the opposition down and start our attacks.

I gambled and put MOTD2 after about 15 mins only to find we had already been on, what where the chances?

To be fair, the Mancs have been newsworthily bad and good respectively

To be fair Ince just described Andre’s goal as goal of the season so he can’t be accused of any bias.

The commentator was impressed by our goals - and Ince says Gray's could be goal of the season, adding that Troy and Gray could cause teams a lot of problems.

    Was this the same Ince?

Danny Murphy’s correct view on Hughes tackle was it was a yellow. Dyche really did embarrass himself with that and the bitter ‘mishit’ comment about Gray’s goal.

If you watch the highlights on YouTube the Arabic commentator has a very apt pronounciation of "Dyche" at 2.39

Agree fully about Matt Lowlife. He should've been booked long before the end for all his niggles, windups, kicking the ball at Holebas and fouls.

Funny Dyche didn't mention the blatant Burnley handball by the 18 which won them possession when the arm intercepted a Will Hughes pass. The ref was right on top of it and waved away appeals but the move ended with Cathcart putting the ball out for the corner Burnley got their only goal from.

They woke up after out first goal and started biting into tackles and had the plan to get the ball out wide fast and bombard us with crosses, which tbf, is a pretty good tactic.

Hughes and Capoue were off it first half and Pererya out left hardly received the ball.

    Second half they all improved.

Deeney's goal celebration seemed a bit Andre Gray away at Newcastle, eg frustration being exploded. Anybody moaning about it should wonder if they prefer us losing but the players being all polite and posey with the fans. I'm a bit fed up with old fat farts saying "GT" wouldn't tolerate this or that, just to suit their own agenda. We're a club that has a song about your father's gun ferchrissakes....man up.

Holebas and Janmaat were again excellent and kept us in the game and Burnley's wide guys nullified. Holebas' tackle/block of Lennon kept us ahead.

There was an amusing moment at the end as Holebas walked off last of our squad down the tunnel in the corner. He gave his shirt to a fan in the corner, who'd come down to the front of what was the Burnley home stand, maybe from the corporate boxes, and posed for a photo with him after signing the shirt too. The bloke had a teenager with him and it looked like Jose was actually asked to take off his shorts and give them away, which he was too until a steward said something to sharp to him. Jose then looked round, smiled and stopped taking them off. I don't think he cares for authority , so it would've been funny if he had...

I felt it was Doucoure rather than Capoue who was off the pace in the first half. The former was completely anonymous. And Hughes was being played into trouble and left out of position by a stream of poor passes and runs from Janmaat throughout that half. It affected both of them.

Agree they all improved a lot in the second half.

We sacked him after he did quite well.

I’m sure he hates losing to us. I’d definitely have extra motivation.

What were the comments about Hughes? Highlights I saw didn't have any bad play from him.

I think as others have said Dyche does come across bitter at times but I think that's just because he is passionate. Other fans probably felt he was same as our boss - old siege mentality

To be fair it was a stupid tackle from Hughes. Never a red though.

As for the game itself the two things that impressed me the most were our reaction in the second half, after being second best for most of the half. Whatever Javi said worked. Its good to know he can give them a kick up the arse.

The other thing was how we managed the game again. Seemes like every player knows their role, and our positioning without the ballin that second half made it so hard for Burnley to create chances. Same with the Brighton game. We have a bit of know how about us.

Looking back at the 5 goals we've scored so far, they have all been of the highest quality in their own way. It shows to me the confidence Javi is instilling in the players. Even the goal we conceded yesterday, I know it was from a set piece but I don't think you can level too much criticism at the team - it was an excellent delivery and a good header. I don't think the defence could have done much more.

Dyche should follow the 'better to keep quiet and appear a fool, than speak and have it confirmed' example I believe.

Agreed, it was impressive after we went 2 up to see how far we've improved as a team in that area since coming into the Prem. Even getting involved in small rows with Burnley players that knocks time off the clock while the ref sorts out the situation. Burnley didn't help themselves either, at 2 down they were arguing about where to take throw ins, it happened several times and I couldn't believe the time they were wasting doing so.

Not to mention Foster. A top class time waster when you're ahead. Massive fan of taking a simple catch upright and then rolling on the floor for no reason.

  31. The fat ex sportsman thing - when you are playing full time, you have to eat lots. It is hard to adjust intake when your calorific expenditure drops by two thirds.
I used a monitor/ computer when I was doing relatively serious cycling a few (many) years ago. On one Etape du Tour (Tarbes -Luz Ardiden via cols d'Aspin and Tourmalet) it said I had used just over 8,000 calories.
If you are not one of nature's skinny people it can be hard to adjust.

I really do think he's a lot better centrally, but in this system I think he'll have to do his best out wide most of the time. Really was a different level of performance in the second half. What a bargain he was.

It's just deflection, every manager does it, why blame yourself when you can blame other people? I'm sure Gracia will use it at some point this season.

Stupid comments from Dyche and he comes across as bitter. Hughes clearly slipped which made the tackle look worse than it was.

It must be doubly frustrating for SD because his one and only tactic is ideal when playing against our fragile defence. He probably considers it a game they should have hoofed their way to victory in. He is a very limited tactician and a good man-manager imo. If he/when he leaves Burnley I expect them to plummet out of the EPL pretty quickly.
