It’s true. Same as last week. As soon as Asprilla goes off, we have f-all outlet/threat. Martins is getting ******* by the week.

Thought it was an interesting game to watch, where a draw was probably the fair result.

Both sides had periods of control, but we did a much better job handling their pressing this time, even if we were guilty of playing into trouble a few times.

Biggest stand out for me was the lack of pace we have in forward areas, which would be so helpful in tight games like this, where somebody with real speed could help us get up the pitch when we’re under pressure.

For me yesterday proves the Boxing Day defeat was an abberation which it was silly to draw definitive conclusions from. Of course we can improve and strengthen in key positions, and of course there are frustrating aspects to our play, but as things stand we are in the playoff hunt and unbeaten after 75% of the January schedule of away games that were meant to break us. Happy days.

Seeing their goal again it’s frustrating for 3 players to deal with it and all 3 mess it up. Andrews, Porteous and Livermore all should have done much better.

    Maybe it was a “fluke”.

Mind you as LBH says we were caught out in similar fashion yesterday so obviously is an issue.

Ten more points and we should be safe from relegation @hornetboy1 ;)

100% this, our stewards are absolutely awful. I've had great experiences at away grounds in the last few seasons which make ours look like the tw*ts they are.

A draw was probably a fair result, neither side created much and we were running on fumes it looked like. Didn't think much of Bristol City but I was rather pickled for most of yesterday.

Kone was brilliant again, really starting to find some consistency in his play. What does worry me we've barely created any chances the past two games, I do think we need some decent back ups all over the pitch for the rest of the season otherwise we will start sliding down the table. If I'm right in thinking don't Val's teams tend to tail off in the second half of the season?

Like the mid-table outfit we most probably are, there were the usual positives and negatives about this game. Stuff to like, stuff to make us moan. Par for the course.

I continue to believe we are punching slightly above our weight, so it’s good to get another point and continue our run of being very hard to beat over the last few months, bar defeats against the then top two and the abomination against yesterday’s opponents when we served up a turkey of a performance over Christmas.

We remain unbeaten this calendar year, which might have seemed unlikely not so long ago considering all our league matches are on the road this month. It’s pleasing to attend away games nowadays not necessarily fearing the worst.

I feel Ismael has built the foundations for something good to develop if he gets a bit more quality given to him this month and again in summer. The pessimist in me, and I guess in many others here, suggests he won’t. Pity.

Still, at least as a South West based supporter, I can go outside today (Idris permitting) with my head held slightly higher than on Boxing Day!

Stay safe in the storm today everybody!

Desperately need to bring in some pace to the fron
Personally thought we were lucky to get a point.
But agreed we have absolutely no pace in attack and its becoming worrying.

It’s ok for you up in Bristol but here in Somerset we have our own mini regional version of it named Idris.

Where I live is so run down, Isha refuses to visit.

Part of the problem is our wingers apart from Sema when he is playing decide to either cut inside or stop running!

We seem to try walking the ball into the box or end up having a shot from outside it.

Biggest shock about the penalty yesterday was that we actually put the ball in the box rather than trying to pass it around.

Whether that was his instruction or not Martens certainly made us much narrower by coming into the middle much more. He doesn’t seem to be much of a willing runner without the ball either.

Sema is a strong runner who can muscle his man off the ball, but he's not that quick, I'm not sure if he's the magic bullet to our pace problem

Pretty boring affair, started well but were lucky to get away with a point, particularly after the absolute chaos Twine's set pieces caused. The ability to hit a high, fast set piece that then dips is something we don't have - no issues beating the first man for him and then loads of clever movement meaning they won the first contact almost all the time. It's a tight league with a lot of teams that are much of a muchness, pretty sure a decent set piece taker could be worth a fair few points.

Not sure why we seemingly have no interest in getting one in, it's been a glaring weakness for years. Holebas was probably our last good set piece taker (and even he was quite hit and miss). Chakvetadze played well but his corners were utter garbage, at least Ken hits one in every three/four pretty well.

Oh for the days of Daniel Tozser...

That was bloody cold yesterday. 1-1 was a fair result, very much two mid champo teams easing to a draw. My new lady enjoyed it, got her drinking pints, she even offered to drive to Watford to watch games.

She is aware she can't get the pints in if she drives to Watford, right? :D

I find it amazing that not one of these professional footballers can put a corner into at least a decent area on a consistent basis. Even when I used to play on Sundays there was always someone who could take a corner.

My word this league is absolutely awful. Good point away from home none the less. Would only take 2 or 3 signings to finish in the top 6.

I'm not so sure that there was someone who could beat the first man AND keep it away from the 'keeper.
Even my youngests team on a Sunday set up defensively 1st man... 2cnd man...keeper .

I would go as far as to say that this league is considerably worse than the premier league but much better than League One.
