The Brazilian Football Confederation will officially launch a bid to host the 2014 World Cup on Wednesday. More...
It would be rather funny if they lost, as they're the only candidate! Apparently FIFA have already said if Brazil's bid isn't up to scratch they're gonna take the World Cup in 2014 to the States.
I was young when USA '94 happened but I do remember games kicking off at even more inconvenient times than Japan/Korea. Although they do know how to organise things, if Bush isn't involved!
Infrastructure, security, transport links, modernity of stadiums, projected profits for FIFA via sponsorship will all be in the melting pot alongside simple stadium size.
If Greece can host the Olympics I'm sure Brazil can make it for the World Cup. I'd definately go to brazil for the WC, but not so sure about the USA.
Of course they can! I don't think for a minute that they would take the World Cup away from South America, but Brazil still have to prove they're up to the task of improving. England for 2018
Well that's the rumour coming from FIFA anyway. The WC is due back in Europe in 2018 and FIFA have made it known that they would welcome a bid from England. The govt. announced a couple of months back that they would support such a bid so it's just down to the FA now...
donny think trafford, stanford, emirates, anfield, st james and probably the likes of boro, rico arena and stadium of light and white hart lane
I reckon they would still use it, it is not like Wales is ever going to host the WC Finals. (They might, but how unlikely is it!)
