HAMEUR Bouazza has been called up to the Algerian squad for their forthcoming qualifying match.

Algeria face Cape Verde Islands on 24 March in an African Cup of Nations 2008 Qualifying match.

Ghana will be hosting the tournament in January of next year.

Bouazza has returned to the Hornets' first team after suffering from injury problems at the start of the year and scored in Saturday's draw with Charlton Athletic at Vicarage Road.

In November 2006 Bouazza was contacted by the Fédération Algérienne de Football about the possibility of playing for the Algeria national football team, as invited to squad against Burkina Faso. Despite this, Bouazza did shun the opportunity and has decided to wait, in the hope of a call-up to the French national side.

But in February, 2007, Bouazza finally accepted call up to Algeria squad, and made his debut against Libya on 7 February.
