... it's time to finally pick a side and test your loyalties.

Lloydinho's 'Wood Army face Notts County at 14h30 for the chance of getting to the play-off finals.

Both games between the team the teams have been draws this seasons (the 'Wood were lucky to draw the game at Broughinge Rd at the 2nd game of the season).

There seems to be a real dislike for the Wood from non league fans generally - bad if they go up etc .

Is it because they are unfashionable and a smaller club ?

Much like us in the 80s as a top flight club.

I've never come across that. There's always been some sort 'camaraderie' between supporters at this level. Relations are good even with our 'rivals' Barnet.

I *think* the "...bad if they go up..." was because this year the league was , pretty much, a two horse race between Wrexham and County - imagine the 6th placed team making it to the final...

Yes probably just one of the forums I am on where some seem to hate any team who haven’t played in the football league so think don’t deserve to do well .

Shame for the keeper after he had played so well but credit to Notts County .

I've no complaints about being beaten by County - they were the better side.

Fine display against the second best team in the history of the league. Hopefully they change the promotion format.

Gut wrenching nonetheless. Gino could learn a thing or two about how to run a club from Danny Hunter. I wonder why we don't have stronger links with clubs in our locale like Boreham Wood, St.Albans City, Cheshunt, Hemel Hempstead Town as a training route for our reserves, youth.

We used to send players on loan to Boreham Wood I think and Wealdstone but as you say don’t now .

Probably fallen out with them .

Be very, very careful what you wish for. Amongst the 'older' Wood fans, the general opinion of the Hunters could be best described as 'Marmitey'. Wood was a 'traditional' community club with extremely 'active' youth pathway programmes (for both boys and girls) called "Borehamwood 2000" but they 'went'. Some might describe Hunter père et fils (Danny's the son who has 'inherited' the club from his dad) as having 'colourful' approaches to doing 'business'. Fair enough, the Wood's run as a very successful football business - it generates a lot of cash (it was home to Reading's academy - although this has morphed into BW PASE academy as they've recently dropped the links with Barnet College) but the big money's come from the Gooners: we were the base of their paid-for "Play the Arsenal Way" 'academies'; their reserves but the big cash cow was/is the Arsenal Ladies (with all that FA/FIFA funding). But the really big one is hiring out the facilities to the nearby TV and films studios - not just the pitches and training/changing facilities but the function rooms, bar areas and offices (an awful lot of ads are filmed there). And in a strange piece of fortitude for the club, it was their involvement with the Arsenal Ladies that changed the Hunters' management, ahem, 'style' of the club - the fundees started asking for receipts of where exactly their money was going. Judging how much money the club was making very little was spent on the pitch, supporters facilities and players - it was always felt that the Hunters were deliberately 'holding back' on investing in the team as success and a rise up the pyramid would have brought much greater scrutiny of their 'activities'.

My gut feeling is more financial demands from the Hunters.

Yes though to be fair it’s relatively simple. BW have to win or they go down. If they win Woking go down unless they get a point. If Woking get a point, Ebbsfleet go down unless either of the 2 sides above them suffer heavy defeats.

So Wealdstone need a point at Oldham to be sure of staying up?

Yes though the only way they could be relegated is if 1/BW beat Ebbsfleet, AND 2/Woking get at least a point, AND 3/Weald lose by at least 3 clear goals. If Ebbs lost to BW by 2 goals, Weald would need to lose by 4 to be relegated (even then they might be able to stay up if York lost by the same huge margin that they did).

It’s mad to think a team could be going down with 53 points, even with four relegation places.

At least Boreham Wood know the score - win and they stay up, anything less and the only other way is if they draw and Woking lose at home to Fylde by five goals.

Remember guys: it's officially "Lloydinio's BWFC". Pick the right side in this fight.

They should be favourites to win at home and in good recent form. Hell of an (almost certain) escape by York to win 4 of last 6 including beating the top 2 in successive matches. All after sacking Neil Ardley !

Up the Stones indeed. I've gone to about 10x as many Stones games than Watford the last few years. Says a lot about how I feel about Watford.

Great club, great fans, and so so so close to confirming survival. I don't really have a problem with Boreham Wood but a lot of the guys I know at Wealdstone seem to.
