Has anyone else heard a rumour that Aidy has been approached by Leicester for the managers job? Apparantly Milan Mandaric is speaking to four managers and one of them is Aidy Ive only heard this from a mate today who follows the Foxes.... he might be winding me up though so I thought I'd post it on here.. see if anyone else had heard anything.
:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]]:]] Yeah thats likely, they sacked the manager that beat us 4-1!!!!!!!! :dismay::whoosh:
A good chairman, would be plain stupid not to enquire but after re-signing his contract I can't see him really going unless it's a mega opportunity. Leicester I am afraid doesn't not even register on the scale. I'm sure Aidy will move on to bigger and better things, probably sooner rather than later, but I think he'll want to finish a job here first and that means stability in the Prem.
He could leave, citing differences of oppinion with regard the direction of the football club... hell who am I to put words in his mouth! * * Please note the above comment is said tongue in cheek and may not represent the views of Adrian Boothroyd and / or employees at Watford Football Club
tbh if the italic bit is for my benefit, I don't really care what you say anymore - not my place to moderate this board anymore!
I just dont see AB going anywhere,he has unfinished buisness here and is building a squad and No way would Simpson let leicester even try and talk to Addie, unless we are offered £10mill in compo..and who else would work for a chairman that has a reputation of sacking managers whenever he feels like it.
I can think of 100 reasons why he wouldn't leave for Leicester. It simply won't happen. They can ask all they like though - it's a free country
Unfortunately I can think of Millions of reasons why it's possible. But If it's a football decision he'll stay for the long term.
I think from almost every perspective (football; finances available; job security; home life; infrastructure at club and relationship with chairman) Aidy either has what he wants here, will be getting it soon or at the very least Leicester can't offer it either. He will go eventually but it'll be to a much bigger, more stable club than Leicester IMO.
Agreed, a whole host of managers in the prem will be under pressure soon. I can see him going if the mood takes him but I dont think he would be swayed by a monetry reason alone, only a step up!
Mandaric has more money than Simpson and Aidy could be offered loads more both for himself and for building a team. But I don't think Aidy's stupid. Mandaric is fickle - we've seen that in the past and with Allen. At Watford Aidy is allowed to work long-term - something that's very rare in modern football. He's already succesfull here and has assembled a very very good squad. If we don't go up this season I think he will leave, but if we do, he'll stay for sure. Leicester is not a big enough carrot for him to even think of leaving. It'd have to be an established Prem club with money to spend for him to go - that's my thinking.
KJ - I am going to buy you 20 boxes of pampers for xmas:]] - you are forever shyting yourself - if its not the board, the players not being good enough or us not spending any dosh -you are forever worried about things. If you knew your club as much as you love your club - you would know that AB wouldn't leave this season. Can you do the board memebers a favour and get some THERAPY.
Can't say I care either way really...he'll go at some point, we'll get someone else in...no problem, that's life.
Read my original post properly you f****** muppet. Im not shyting myself at all... just happened to have heard something thats all and asked if anyone else had. I used to have a bit of respect for you Paddy but your constant digs are doing my head in.
