I was late to the ground by about 5 mins, No road signs anywhere!!!

The website clearly States that you could buy tickets at the gate, but no!

I had to run around the ground, on my own, in the rain, to get a ticket, and charged £23 for a adult ticket:mad:

When i got in the ground, i had already missed 30 mins of the game because of them:mad:

All the people i went with were in the bottom tier, i tryed going down staires but they grabbed me from behind, i told them im 13 and i cant sit on my own, but they didnt care, so i ended up sitting on my own for the rest of the game

I'll be complaining to the club about this!

PAY ON THE DOOR AT CITY

MANCHESTER CITY have informed us that Hornets fans will be permitted to pay on the door on Monday night at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Tickets will remain on sale at the Vicarage Road ticket office until 1pm on Monday and will then be available from 5pm in Manchester. Those fans wishing to buy tickets on the night are asked to go to the Box Office South at the ground.

There will be approximately 600 available, priced £23 for adults and £13 concessions (over 65s and under 16s).

    No road signs????????

    1. You don't drive.
    2. Clearly lots of signs saying follow signs to Sport City for the City of Manchester stadium.

Our website clearly told you where to buy the ticket from as highlighted above!

You could ave walked, or knowing you didn't have a ticket you should have read OUR website more clearly and got dropped by the box office.

Overcharged, you do have a point there and you should construct a letter of complaint.

That is your fault for not getting there early enough.

Why buy a ticket in the Upper Tier if you knew friends were lower tier? perhaps they had no lower tier left, so hardly there fault again.

there were seats empty downstairs but some people went upstairs who should have been down and a box office person is not to know that.

You have only one legitimate complaint over the price you paid, nothing else.

I didnt drive, my friend did, the road signs were terrible!

I didnt know what tier my friends were in, i dont even know why they gave us 2 tiers

james you can't blame Man City for any of that.

You only genuine issue is the price you paid, nothing else.

I had no trouble finding the ground for the first time.

We Started seeing signs for the ground a hour before the game, we followed them, and got nowhere :-S

I used to drive to manchester regularly with work and soon after the stadium was completed I decided to go take a look.... i found it easier to find and better signposted than most other stadiums.. including vicarage road.
A lack of map reading abilities or sign reading abilities is no-ones fault but yours and your friends... its hardly fair to blame it on Man city.
Though charging you for an adult ticket was a bit much, on that you should complain to them about it... though it might be like the Upper Rouse, I took my eldest boy there for a game and got charged full price for him as there were no concessions.

well, no complaint at all jobr!

seeing as james stewart does look 18 (and a half) so ofcorse he got charged adult! should be prowd mate!

i however will be complaining about being kicked out after 10 minutes for standing, with out a warning... when the whole block was standing behind the goal and all the city fans were. Told by the stewart we were going to have a quiet word on the other side of the door... opens the door, shoved through, find myself out side and the door back in shut!
Outside are about 10 other watford fans all also ejected for rediculous things! (eg, wanting to complain about being assulted by a steward, asking a steward if he can stand at the back, shouting 'come on watford' with arms in air!)
Then being given the run around by watford and city of manchester police for a hour, leeding us down the dark streets of manchester to a suposed away pub we never found, then telling us to go bak to the coach, then telling us to go for loitering, go in to a pub only to be kicked back out by them 10 seconds later as sarge didn't want us in a pub after all! It would help if the copper with the cam recorder, interviewing me had a memory... got asked to confirm my address 8 times and it was recorded... couldn't he of just played it back to himself 8 times!? :S
any ideas on the best email address to complain to?

They wanted to see whether you were BSing. A good way of tripping up liers is asking them to repeat something over and over again....

I wouldn't email a complaint, find the address and post one. Complaints are treated more seriously if you send it in a letter.

E-Mail or Letter, but make sure the e-Mail or letter are accounted for, ie: recorded letter and e-mail receipt when read.

i watched you getting led out but was too far away to get involved.

i stood for most of the game down the front, i got told once to sit down to which i replied g0 @@@@ yourself and sort out all the dumb home fans first, then i will sit down once they are.

I am starting to get the feeling now that some clubs target younger fans as if to send a message out.

Look on the man City website for some contact details a fire off a complaint.

I am sure a number of us would add our weight to the yet again heavy handed approach of some little Hitler wannabees.

    will do thanks...

never got a personal warning, just a few stewards patheticly motioning for everyone to sit down from the sides, then was being told "we just want a word, nothings happening... through this door and you've just been ejected"
    - look back to see the door shut and left for the police to find in the rain!

younger fans are definately targeted (at home with the green team aswell)

as soon as our coach arrived the old bill (both from manchester and watford) were on top of us with their video cam recorder getting footage of us entering the stadium, and were right in our face as we left it (in drips and drabs during various points of the first half)
and as we all got back on the coach they interviewed everyone who was on it!

the police even try calling us by our first names after we got kicked out:
"don't ignore me, callum... see, we aint stupid, we know your name, get back here callum... CALLUM"
"actually you are stupid, that ones paul! callums over there being interviewed, perhaps you should study a better quality camera next time!"

thats a disgrace. you should have started a riot. try to inform watford fc about it first then they will probably talk to you about it ang get you in touch with the appropriate people. definatley take this up with them

WFC will keep out of it, that I'm certain of. Unfortunately this is a football wide issue. The whole ejection system needs further consideration - to name a few of the problems: away fans are ejected while doing the self same thing as the majority of home fans, inconsistency from ground to ground, people are often ejected alone into hostile areas, stewards seem to not give appropriate warnings etc etc. The list goes on!

  23. wfchornet2

    wfchornet2 The Prodigal mod

I personally feel this is something that the police should look into.
As UEA stated it is not unusual for a lone supporter to be ejected from the ground and left in a potentially dangerous position whereby he is left unprotected in an area heavily populated by home fans.
In this instance there are serious health and safety and public order issues to be considered.
There is also the issue where by fans are man-handled by officials who have no right to do this, they are in effect breaking the law and encroaching on a persons civil rights. (This has been reported on here more than once about our own green team)

if a steward was to man handle you, and you pushed them away, would that be assault?
as they have no proper powers and when it comes to that it is effectivly a civilian manhandling you, if it happened somewhere else, you could push them away.

so long as excessive force isnt used by you then it is self defence.
However it is one of those times whereby police involvement would invariably side with the official. Witnesses would need to be sought by you in any event.

As much as i find this thread EXTREMELY comical (especially the opening post) by the sounds of things (although only hearing one side of the story) the ejections were harsh.
Now i'm sure there is more to it than just standing, whenever people moan about stewards a fair amount of the time the stewards are merely doing their job but does seem silly.

You've barely got a leg to stand on james, firstly you should have got there earlier and for a new stadium i can garauntee there is plenty of road signs, secondly the website didn't say on the gate. Chances are they'll say you looked 16 or over and say you should have shown i.d.
If your friends were sitting in the lower tier then you should have bought one for there.

Here's a case of the stewards just doing their job but still get attacked by the likes of you.

    As i said, COMICAL.

i was also asked why i dressed for "it" when i asked what "it" maybe i was tolds to get back on the coach.

Chewitt, I was sitting behind the lads that got thrown out, and to be totally honest they did nothing wrong at all!

Was a similiar situation to the Southampton away match last year when the snot squad asked us all to sit down because we were standing up and singing!

The Manc fans to the left of us were larging it all night long...standing up and trying to wind these lads up! I don't mind this as it's all part of the atmosphere and part of being an away fan, BUT, if you're going to eject 10 young lads no older than 18 then at least turf out the home fans that were doing exactly the same!

Unfortunatley though it all boils down to these OTT stewards that were probably bullied at school trying to flex their macho authority by picking/bullying young lads!

If it had been a group of ten 18 stone, 6'3 middle aged skinheads they wouldn't have batted an eyelid!

    Cowards!

yes will back most of that up. ignore his post. has a grudge against the young group who were picked on
