I've posted this thread in this section on purpose to ask specically who could do a similar job for us? Giving it laldy on the touchline and swinging ball-boys about. I bloody well loved it post Snake. Exactly what our game should be all about. Unbridled passion. So who might be our Duncan F.? It might all go a bit 'pear-shaped' for him down the line if he hasn't got the other 'accoutriments' to deliver in the longer term. But, in the interim, at home, the Toffees have a 'one goal start'. Get in there.
Must admit the passion shown by the players, staff and crowd was incredible. Tbf Chelsea could of and possibly should of murdered them in the end. Host of wasted chances.
Agreed - they smashed in tackles made, 37 in the game. For context that is the best they have achieved for a decade, and the most by any prem team this season. Impressive. Back to your question, not sure. My heart says Mooney or Hessenthaler - as I love them for their never say die attitude and ability to drag a team to a win. But Mooney is a coach at Villa, and Andy the Dover manger. Not sure they would make the step up right now. Having said that I'm not sure what big Dunc was doing before he was hired, and I can't be bothered to check so can someone else please Having said that, based on how well he is doing at Everton, it would have to be Marlon King. They have a similar feral nature and that will surely translate into management.
He’s been a coach there for years. I think he was pretty much sidelined by Koeman in terms of first team duties, but he’s still been coaching there for a decent while. To answer the original question, I’m not sure there is anybody. The club has changed so much over the last few years, and despite plenty of effort to maintain links with our past, I’m not sure there’s anybody linked to the club in a coaching role who’d have an impact on our squad in that sort of inspirational role.
Thanks! That makes sense why he was put in charge temporarily. I'm sure Jurado could do a job? Player manager, the best of both worlds!
Ahh I get you, the 'He' I meant was the aggressive criminal Dunc Ferg. And Marlon is also rather unsavory character that proved to have not made as much social progress as we had hoped.
Big Dunc? Well, we have Troy. But this is when he retires or changes roles. Actually I can't see him lifting a boy boy into the air in celebration. As for past players... Richard Jobnson? Tommy Smith at a push.
It's all well and good them doing that in his first match, but chances are it would be difficult to sustain. Were he to stay it could likely pan out similar to Solskjaer's reign at Utd so far - in blistering form for the first set of matches, absolutely busting a gut to win everything, before suddenly crashing and burning a few months in after all the excess effort catches up with them until they can revert back to some semblance of a normal level again at the start of next season.
