c/p Derby fan site The Rams are keen on Watford defender as Paul Jewell looks to rebuild Derby County's frail defence. The target this time is Watford left back Jordan Stewart (26). Stewart has plenty of Premiership experience playing in most of the 2006-07 season for Watford. Stewart can also play on the left of midfield, making him a highly prized utility player. Rangers were said to be interested in taking him to Scotland during his run in the Watford Premiership side but the interest wasn't followed up and Stewart has spent this season with the Hornets and may yet be a key figure in their play-off hopes. No reaction from either Derby County or Watford has yet been heard and not expected until Watford's play-off progress has been decided....
there welcome to him if there actually willing to pay some money for him then brilliant aidy should be delighted
From this article it looks true http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/index.jsp Scrool down and click the piece near the bottom right hand side , todays paper.
Well, it appears Derby just weren't happy at being the sh*ttiest Premiership side in history, they now aim to achieve the same in the Championship by signing utter crap like Stewart, go Derby!
It just shows how wrong most of you are about Jordan, why else would other teams be interested in him? Mark my words, you will all be sorry if he leaves us, i know I will be!!!
We will do well to get a fee with him being out of contract unless there is more than one club involved. Certainly he has screwed himself here by thinking he was too good to sign his bloody contract. He is a really, really nice guy though.
How the feck can you have a bidding war on a player who is out of contract and leaving on a free?:dismay: The fact thst it is Derby, who are possibly the worst team in the history of the Premier league sums him up. He will be after a nice big signing on bonus to whoever he joins, I hope it is Derby as Smith will make mincemeat of him next season. He done well for us last seaosn, one of our better prem players but I won't be sad to see him and his 'hollywood' ego go.
Sadler's lack of pace might get exposed should we get to the Prem. Apart from Smith, Stewart was our best player for me last season. I would also play Stewart instead of Sadler should we get in to the playoff final against Palace. In fact, I think he would probably do a better job at left wing against Hull than Jobi at the moment. I will actually be disappointed if he leaves.
Foster? Shittu? If it's just pace you need in the Premiership then we should sign Dwayne Chambers....
Don't, if Aidey sees that post he might just consider it! Think of all the media spin Adie, Ashton and co could do with that....'He has made mistakes in the past......this is not a publicity stunt.......more dangerous than Henderson and Priskin......'
Good one thicko, he's OUT OF CONTRACT. I Believe under current rules he is already allowed to speak to other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement.
You have answered your own question - the bidding war is with the player when his contract expires. It might well include a combination of signing on fee and salary, or even fringe benefits like somewhere to live or a baby Bentley. Stewart has put in his time for us and has been played out of position most of the time - so good luck to him.
Jordan Parkes? Anyway, JS is gone now. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/mostpopular.var.2254566.mostviewed.stewart_released_by_horns.php
