I think another benefit of being in the Prem is that it has showcased our talent. If we had not been promoted I do not think that there would have been this much interest in Ash. I think even the people on this board have under-valued Ash with most saying they would sell him for around £5 mill at the start of the season. What would clubs have been bidding if we were still in the Championship - maybe £3 -£3.5 million and what would he truly go for now in a cash deal probably double that. So what would your other valuations be? Here are just a few of my ideas; Lee (for Jobr) - £1 mio Chambers - £750,000 Stewart - £750,000 Shittu - £3 mio Demerit - £1.0 mio Mahon - £3 mio Bangura - £1 mio Francis - free Smith - £750,000 Bouazza - £2 mill plus plus (unknown really but actually as good as Ash) Hendo - no goals says it all. Only Championship prices £500,000. King - not for sale at any price - well £2 mill, at least as good as CJ.
I find it difficult to agree with this one. I just think realistically we would be lucky to get £1.5 million.
But then again our reputatuon has not really been enhanced in this league. All our players get is negative press as a team. However people like Foster,Young and Bouazza get praised as an individual.
I can't see Chambers and Stewart being worth 1,5 together. On the other hand I feel AlBang is worth more. He's 18 and is performing in the PrL - that's gotta count for something. Hendo - should he start scoring will be worth more. The thing is he hasn't had someone with him up front who took some of the attention from defenders. I think he would have got goals had Marlon been there. I think with Priskin or Hoskins he'll get goals.
lee £1million, I just spat out me coco pops. King I think is worth £5million, mahon £2m rest about right although now I would pay someone to take Francis away.
I know you don't like Lee (putting it mildly) but he's a great shot stopper and for a team not relying on keeper distribution as much as we do, he'd be a huge assett. I think a mio is a fair price tag for him.
How is he a different player? He can marginally kick the ball better, that's it! It was only 6 months ago they rejected him, not 6yrs...
too much carlsberg for you, clouding your judgement. Once a clown always a clown, belongs in the circus.
Considering his age I wouldn't expect Gav to fetch much more than £750k Lee, around £500k (same for Chambers/Stewart) Al Bang is a walking Yellow/Red card and needs to learn alot hence £750k Macca/Bouazza are the real movers, probably £2-£3mil each so long as their form doesn't nosedive.
Macca is never worth £2m/£3m - he's done a lot better in recent games but his form/ability over the past 5 years has been sketchy at best. If he can keep his current level up til the end of the season then he'll be worth £1m in my books.
Lee has been pretty good for us this season. Factor in that he is young for a 'keeper and that he has been performing in the top league in Europe (outside Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland and Malta) and you've got to say he's been pretty good and has come on leaps and bounds since last season, as Aidy has said.
Because of his college years Jay is already 26 years old !!! he doesn't have that many years left to learn !!
I think Rich is within 10% of Ben in ability, and wouldn`t sell him under £2million, homegrown talent with loyalty is worth a lot, and the acid test jobr is what keeper of quality would join us for £1 million. Marlon still `has baggage` and even with his sheep shearing skills is probably worth £3-4 million. Agree about the rest and Francis should be sent to BCA without a reserve (no warranty implied or given);D
