He did not have a chance with the goal IMHO!!!!, but I think he had a good solid game, he even got praise from the pundits for one of his saves, how amazing is that

I wonder if he would have got the same praise if he had been wearing a Watford shirt? It would probably been described as a fluke lucky save if he had been

Yeah he did ok. Nothing spectacular, one good reflex save. Other than that he only had to do his favourite activity - picking the ball out of the net.

Apart from one moment of madness in the 2nd half, can't remember who crossed it but Ben looked about as lost as Hendo in the opposition box, Villa just missed it at the far post. Incidently, what an absolute class act David Villa is, far and away the best player on the field last night, if only he was English.

Ben looked solid enough to me.

He had absolute uck all to do all night except one routine/decent save which he should have caught and not parried into danger and had he tried stretching a little bit more and be positioned more to the centre of the goal, he would have saved the goal that was scored.

Apart from that his kicking was good, he rolled the ball out extremely competently and as stated above, should be in the TV show - LOST for that cross that came over.

Lucky for England that Spain didn't get out of fourth gear.

Looked more like 2nd gear to me.

Come Paddy, enough of the Foster baiting. No one would have saved that shot and you know it :)

    Paddy,

Were you ever a banker, do you like Jodrell Bank, and do you have lamb shanks?

Fossie baiting is not much fun without the jobster around;)

Yes quite agree, but Richard Lee would have saved it - and would have played for half Ben`s appearance fee.;D

That's true Berko - you all love Coco as well as Bozo.

Thought Fossie did what he had to do very well indeed! McLaren was impressed and that's the only thing that matters!

If Lee was actually good enough to get anywhere near an England call up then he'd have failed miserably last night, like he has all season for us!

I mean, fancy getting called back to Watford last week and letting 4 poor goals in at Old Trafford! Foster would have saved all of them - fact!

Well I think Fossie did fine. Not a lot to do but looked solid, comfortable, good reflex save, nothing he could do about the goal, had to use his head when Gary Neville threw the ball to him under pressure, kicking was excellent.
No complaints - better than Paul Robinson would have done.
