    Hey guys.

Just wanted to ask what you feel about the show in general. It's incredibly popular and usually the phone lines are blocked and you even have to get past a "researcher" to be considered for the live call in. I think some of the fan's on there are pretty genuine in their assessments of their teams performances.

Have noticed quite the sharp upturn in Watford fans calling in since Pearson took over. Robbie Savage may act like a class clown and argumentative but it's obviously put on for entertainment. The other hosts, Emma Jones (huge Leeds fan), that bald guy off Final Score and even our very own Emma Saunders have hosted it.

I like it personally. It's quite entertaining to listen to moaning as well as the happy clappers so to speak.

    Thoughts?

This feels like one of those uni things where we have to fill in a questionnaire.

The sheer depth of the questioning makes me think that this comes from 5Live themselves.

Not a fan of Robbie Savage at all, he is argumentative bordering on rude talking over the caller's and fellow presenters. Won't listen when he's on.

    Bring back Danny Baker.

    Ridiculous man.

I like Baker, however if you read his Twitter feed he moans about VAR on everyone of them - so I'm glad he hasn't got a national platform to do it.

    Radio is still a thing?

Generally at the end of a match I've had enough and want to say a few swear words and forget football for a while, I don't want to listen to fans spouting off about how wonderful Clop is. I think the days of multiclub/division media & punditry is fast disappearing as the knowledge levels of the presenters just are not up to it.

Monday night club is usually good.
Mark Chapman on the programme is excellent.
    Listen to it often.
The phone ins on Saturday night are tedious with drunk/overreacting fans talking shyt e asking for managers to be sacked/ we’re brilliant/ getting relegated etc
Robbie Savage is OK and Chris Sutton talks sense but a bit up his own ar$e.
    Better than TalkShyte.

When Danny Baker created 606 years ago he would never stand for that kind of nonsense. It was a much more intelligent and entertaining programme as a result.

Chris Sutton seems to like disagreeing and creating arguments for the sake of it but doesn't mince his words which is no bad thing for a pundits.

Savage does like to wind people up - as usual !

I used to speak occasionally to Danny B on 606 or his early morning programme and more recently before he was fired, again!
Speak is not quite the word as it is difficult to get a word in edgeways, tremendous fun though!
My brother and I sent him a tennis ball that had hair like Taribo West and my brother's recording of events in the back of Mr Punch's Mercedes all those years ago! Paul achieved this 'squeaking' sound by moving the sole of his shoe against the leg of one of my Mother's arm chairs. Quite labour intensive but very authentic I think.
Oddly enough it was never aired.
    Shame.

I disagree. I enjoy his forensic examination of fans' lazy assumptions made with nothing to back them up.

  15. I'm new to podcasts and have just started listening to the Peter Crouch after it was recommended.

    First one was pretty funny.

Is there a podcast thread anywhere? I need to know about good ones!

I like Ellis and John on Radio 5 live. They are like Alan Partidge and Bryn from Gavin and Stacey and they talk to young listeners like me.

    Speaking of phone ins.

On Talksport just had a "Leicester fan" on claiming to be 68 but only supported them for 25 years basically calling for anyone with a Leicester connection to be sacked/dropped!

Said he was never watching them again etc.

They then asked who he had been supporting before for 40 year odd years - said Watford as he lived down "there" (here)

Certainly had Cundy and the presenter on the wind up!

Mind you he should know about a plastic supporter with his Chelsea connections.
