Posted this on facebook https://www.facebook.com/cristian.battocchio?fref=ts Signed? For those who can't see it, it's a picture of him clapping the fans after a game with the caption 'Watford ..'
Playing devils advocate here but could mean the opposite as in a sort of ''thank you watford'' who knows! I'd love to see him here again, think he has a very bright future ahead of him and I really think he could push for more starts next year.
I did half think that, but seems like he wants to stay. Plus why wait this long after the last game to do so? http://labottegadelcalciofilo.com/2013/06/27/cristian-battocchio-watford-shirt-suits-me-fine/ Anyway, let's hop he's staying. He's a class act and will have a huge part to play this season.
maybe his future was decided and it's not at watford so to show his appreciation to the fans he put the picture up as a ''goodbye'' before the announcement came. I'm not saying this is the case just me being pessimistic and playing devils advocate.
One of my favourite players from last season. Really hope we signed him. If we don't, it won't be because he doesn't want to come; in a recent interview, he said:
I have to agree with some of the others, it could be his way of saying goodbye? I sincerely hope it isn't, and I think he wants to stay, but maybe Zola does not see CB in the clubs future plans. I think we need some clarification on this one!!!
Must mean he s staying . If he went we would only have 3 CM s Hogg, Abdi, Smith . One of those isn't definitely signed either , and another is a young player who needs to go on loan leaving Hogg as our only definite CM
I think it means he's going. Can someone IT minded please put up a poll? If they've got time in between slaying orcs, that is.
I like Christian, yes, he was one of my favourite players by the end of the season. And yes, I would love him to sign. But I think that among the loan players, he is far easier to replace or improve upon. To me, the desire to keep him here is more emotional, but because of his spirit rather than his ability, which is perfectly adequate. There is also the companionship for FF, which I suspect is quite a big thing. However, I would not lose sleep over his departure, whatever dissapointment I felt. In many respects I think this, for me, is very like the question of whether to sign Lloyd or not last week. There are lots of players with his ability or better, but not so many with his spirit. I would definitely sign him, but not too fashed if we don't.
Pudil also just instagramed a picture of him, and the caption was on my way to Italy! Then then confirmed it was via Watford...
Agree with this. He needs to improve and probably will, but for a 'ticky tacky' soccerballer he gave the ball away far too often last season. He wouldn't be an irresistible first choice, but decent squad player you hope will get better.
10,000 posts and 'The Voice Of Reason' yet you make statements like that? Opinion is opinion but bloody hell.
Battocchio had sloppy games, but you have to remember how big a challenge last season was for him. I don't see how anyone who saw him play a lot can say he doesn't have big potential though. It's an absolute no-brainer to sign him, and I say that without being swayed by his spirit or w/e in any way shape or form.
I like Battocchio and want him to stay because he's quick, determined, a good passer of the ball, quick footed, pretty strong for a little guy and has a lot of potential. He's quality and we'd find it difficult to replace him. His 'spirit' and relationship with 'Nando are nice bonuses.
Battochio made mistakes, yes, but he also pulled off some brilliant play at times. The close control he showed when he weaved between multiple Leicester players to miss by a whisker after a slight deflection was wonderful.
I think this is probably closest to the truth. Can we put this as the third choice on the poll options ?
I thought CB went from strength to strength last season and he has bags of potential. The wonder goal against Huddersfield was the start for him and his epic display away against Hull was sensational. I also remember that when CB, Chalobah and Abdi started a game we didn't lose, is that a coincidence?
I hope he stays. Certainly seems like he wanted to according to interviews conducted after the season finished. I can see him playing the role Abdi plays if Abdi takes up the Chalobah role (That one was serious guys) CB can create a lot of space for a little guy and isn't scared to run at people. Also, his ability to win the ball back is quite impressive. When he first started at the club I wasn't sure he could hack it being so small but he proves he isn't scared of a challenge and is quite competetive in the air. If he signs it'll be great.
Article on the W O site today, saying he wants to stay with us, but does not know if he is coming back yet. The article seems to fit in with my earlier post which does not say I don't want him back, because I do, but says that GFZ might not want him back!!! Therefore I still don't understand what your post is about Squibba, I'm still
I think the comments about him not knowing what was happening were made some time over the last week but definitely before Watford flew out to Italy. I'm hoping he is out there.
