Linked with a move to Hellas Verona who finished 10th in Serie A last season. Would be sad to see him go but with all the midfielders we're being linked with, I imagine 1 or 2 of the current lot will probably move on. http://www.tuttoudinese.it/gli-ex/gli-occhi-della-a-su-battocchio-24224
Such a good player that will get better and better I'm sure. Battocchio loves it at Watford as well so it'd be a real shame.
Love the little guy to bits, but he is not yet ready to be a regular in the team, and not sure he ever will be, so if he goes he goes, but good luck to him if he does :sign15:
He's foreign and crap. I will personally drive him to the airport and make sure he gets on the plane.
I like his enthusiasm but he has no presence about him at all and often gets lost in games. He's one of those players that is often great when you're winning 3-0 at home but otherwise invisible.
Will you buy his plane ticket and book a taxi for him at the other end? I'd say you'd be safer driving him the whole way.
I think he puts in the effort and is applauded to that effect. But still could do more and a bit limited for Championship football in my opinion.
I don't rate him at all some of the games last season he played he was woeful, yes he will run around but he's not strong enough
I'd like to keep him. I think his experience in the Championship thus far will mean a better player next season - with a more stable squad. Surely that is what we want.
I would agree with this. Personally, I think he's a better player than some on here give him credit for and he is, in my opinion anyway, a better player than Murray.
If Battocchio and Murray were both home-grown, it would be common opinion that Battocchio is a better player than Murray.
Agree that Battochio is better than Murray at the moment, but Murray is homegrown and that's going to tip the balance in his favour given our current limited crop of HG players.
With the allotments so close to the ground, there's no excuse for not producing more home-grown players
No effing way. You can say that Batty looks happier and cuter than Murray, but Murray has more natural ability, can carve goals out of nothing and, IMO (as it only can be opinion at this stage) has the potential go to onto be a much more complete player. Whilst there were question marks about Murray's attitude and lifestyle in the past and there are now questions about his ability to drift out of games, the latter is also massively true of Batty. However, if I were to stick a tenner on the ability of one of them to positively turn a game on its head singlehandedly, that would be Murray every time,
Nah. Battocchio can do pretty much everything Murray does. I think Murray strikes a ball better than Batto but Battocchio chips in with more goals. CB is much more of a threat when we counter-attack. Battocchio, Vydra and Anya very often led the charge last season, this season it's mainly been Battocchio, Faraoni and Anya. Battocchio is also much more capable of playing quick passing football, especially in tight spaces. I don't think Murray moves the ball quite as fast as Battocchio. I rate Murray and they are very similar players, but I think Battocchio is the better and more effective player. Just.
Batty doesn't speak English very well, but then again Murray mumbles... I'm finding it really hard to separate the two
Maybe this is why we're signing that new guy? Cristian Battocchio could return to Italy. According to Sky Sports, the Italian-Argentine after the experience with Udinese now plays for Watford could play in the Virtus Entella. The midfielder of the National U-21 represents one of the last goals of the newly-promoted club in Serie B, which could soon make an offer to the English club. http://www.tuttoudinese.it/watford/battocchio-torna-in-italia-in-serie-b-25589 Don't understand this in the slightest, if it's true. Why get rid of a player who has performed well and has learnt the league, for a player who could turn out to be ****?
Battocchio does keep getting linked with a move away doesn't he - somebody not rate him as highly as we might think?
Batto is frustrating with his passing but chips in with goals and has a fantastic engine and attitude. Beppe wanted to keep him in January so if he is being offered around maybe it's the people a bit higher up than Beppe that don't rate him? Surely he's better than Serie B though??
Why better than serie B? He is not good enough for a mid table championship side. I think he is good back up to have in reserve but as Murray is home grown, he can go bye bye.
In two minds about this, he does blow hot and cold. I think a season out on loan could rectify this however so if it's a loan good move.
