In your opinion yes - on yesterday performance he was not as good as he has been this season. However I think if you look back on here we did a poll on who we ALL thought was our best player so far - I think you'll find Gav at the top or very near to it.
Gavin was on his own against four Liverpool midfielders , so he would look bad. Bangura was just marking space before the first goal, doing not much, allowing them to surge through. Second half Gav seemed to play deep midfield with Ashley of all people alongside. Like so many times before, having the lightweight likes of Macca in front of defence (or four of them in 1st half), leaves the Stewarts and Mariappas woefully exposed. Gavin was on impossible mission to defend (or attack) alone with such "fighters" in front of him.
