Baldock, Vokes, Clifford and NUFC interest in Loach This is from Soccerade Uk (i'd never heard of it either) but they're the sponsors of the harefield academy so they could well have 'sources' 'Watford's main strike target is MK Don's Sam Baldock although they face competition from Palace, Reading and over the last few hours rumours have appeared West Ham are also in for him. I think Watford would have had a chance if there wasn't so many other clubs in for him which is likely to cause a bidding war. Not sure how accurate these are but heard they could be interested in loan moves for Chelsea's Conor Clifford and Wolves' Sam Vokes depending on how much % of wages they would have to pay' Clifford seems like a good player from the few clips i've seen of him, is the Vokes rumour old news? and can we compete with the other clubs?
Yeah clifford could be the creative midfielder we're crying out for, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOahS8Dg9KM Video of him here
Im generally wary of Chelsea youngsters, they get signed at 11 and spend all their time smashing leyton orient under 15s 10-0 Alot of them are useless once they get a chance in pro league football
I don't understand why we need a Chelsea youngster when our youngsters are just as good! Mingoia, Whichelow and Murray could all do a job in the centre for us. I'd particularly like to see Matty in the middle playing off the strikers. When he came on against Cov he was the only Watford player who wanted to get beyond the striker and run at the opposition.
Has the Baldock ship not sailed? If we were interested why didnt we offer the money there and then when Peterboro had a bid accepted? No doubt it will be someone no ones has mentioned so far.
He probably means why not use one of our boys instead of trying out a youngster from a different club. Yes we have had some good loans but also some that have not.. Drinkwater for instance.
Well surely the fact that City, Liverpool and Arsenal have tried to take Murray, Massey and Mensah would suggest that they are pretty talented? And yes I did mean we should use our youngsters instead of helping bigger clubs develop theirs, I feel ours can make the step up and make a difference in the first team.
I really like the look of Matty, IMO he's very talented with a big future. Also IMO, not quite ready yet for regular starts. His time will come I've no doubt, but this isn't it.
to play devils advocat, why should we send our good youngsters out on loan and why should lower league clubs take them ?
Someone mentioned to me the other day that we were in for Stevenage midfielder (and ex-scummer) Rob Sinclair. Don't know where they got it from but I had a look around and all I could find about it was on football-rumours but that only came up today. Don't know why we would be in for him as he doesn't even make their starting XI
I don't want Sinclair as he is an ex Scummer and is also barely getting a shout in the Stevenage side. I'd take Baldock though
'Baldock, Vokes, and Clifford'. I'm sure they are the ******* Estate Agents that dragged their feet when I last moved house.
No he isn't. They had him on loan near the end of last season but he went back and they've signed other strikers, notably Morison.
Mainly Sub apps last season. 1 Goal for the season, against us at Vicarage Road. Buried it into the ground and it went in. Nothing amazing.
I dont think were getting a permanent striker now. Id love to be proven wrong but I think Baldock is out the window.
Still a week and a bit left of the transfer window, plenty of time to bring in a striker permanently. I too don't think it'll be Baldock though. I hope we can bring him back. Similar player to Graham and in my opinion would work well with Sordell.
Think that Norwich are looking for 500k for McDonald which is not too excessive. Was reported that Swindon had agreed a fee of 350k rising to 500k, but that McDonald turned them down due to feeling he can play at Championship level and having had interest from clubs.
