Townsend reminds me of McGugan. The odd great long range goal but not too much in the way of assists. Do we need "a winger" ? Who would he play in place of ? Abdi ? No thanks .
Doesn't track back, lazy and predictable. Yes he has his moments, but not the hardworking, team player that QSF is looking for.
Not bothered what his family get up to, seeing as he is his own person. Seems like Deeney's Dad wasn't exactly the perfect citizen but I don't mind. As for his ability, I think he'd be a good signing seeing as we lack many pacy creative wingers. Does seem to have a bit of an attitude problem though.
Why re-sign a bloke that was continually late for training, and subsequently sent back, when he was here on loan?
I know Malky sent him packing. Was that the reason then? I'd like to think he's now older & wiser but who knows. Maybe not.
That and he wouldn't do a community event he was asked to do as he was 'just a loan player' - which shows how committed he was.
All I will say is remember Cathcart! Hopefully Townsend has made the sort of progress that CC has; as a player he is now an England international, as a decent human being we don't know, but surely he will have done some maturing since he was last with us? We need the type of player he is, though I am sure there equally as good, if not better alternatives out there, he is but one who could fit the bill for what we need.
