Indeed. We lose the raw pace and aggression of Sarr but which RP will turn up ? The classy committed creative goalscoring RP, or the invisble disinterested passenger RP ? We will find out in 8 hours time.
I could have meant disinterested in that he is effectively impartial as he has no stake in the outcome as he plans to move on in the summer and so isn't fully engaged as opposed to simply uninterested......
Glad it’s not just me who feels this way. For the second half of the Spurs match I took myself off to the study and did some research for mini HH’s art homework rather than watch the match.
Great post. This feels like a good match to get Dahlberg some minutes too. Give Foster the night off. And after his heroics at the back v Spurs could be a good idea to stick Pussetto in at centre half. We could put the imposing Whelan in alongside him. Pretty formidable pairing, image being a striker and facing those brutes.
No Sarr, no party. If we ARE to rest Deulofeu that's the only way I'd like to do it, only because I'm unsure about throwing Pusseto straight into a game of this importance. Plus Gray off Deeney won't be expected by Villa and with their Championship level defence, we might see Gray score a couple.
Just think about the last bunch of games and we really should be confident going into this. Liverpool: Could easily have got a result there Man U: Smashed Sheffield: Away draw against the form team that's beating everyone Villa Home: Smashed with 10 men Wolves: Beat a very good team Bournemouth: Monstered Tottenham: Should have won We don't have those "moments" anymore. We'll win this. We all know Deeney will score as well.
Hmmm. You interpret that as reasons we will win. I see it as a reason we will lose. Footballs a weird game
Yep. We are due a loss and it feels like tonight's the night. I would feel more confident about this match if pussetto hadnt cleared that ball off the line and we'd have lost on saturday.
I think he probably would play quite a strong side but the option not to means he can full-strength tonight.
I don't feel very well at all. I'm not sure how I will feel at 7.30pm but it won't be an improvement.
I think the man utd team (if we get past Tranmere) will depend a lot on tonight's games. Us and Brighton win and we've a 4 point gap and have more of an option to risk more first teamers but I'd still only play a handful rather than the full first 11). We'd still be down there but at least have some breathing space. Drop back into the relegation zone tonight and I'd personally rather we not risk potential injury and give them all 10 days rest.
How much rest do footballers really need? After the potential Man Utd game, we have a match each of the following weekends and then a clear weekend for the winter break. I fear that when players don't play for more than a week you lose momentum so while I agree with treating the Tranmere game as a reserve match, should we win I see no issue with the first team playing Saturday - Tuesday - Sunday.
I think the only team sheet question is whether Kaba or Dawson will start. Pereyra in for Sarr, the rest the same
