Britts goal scoring records for Posh and Forest since he left us are quite impressive ,especially at a poor side like Forest! I would love to see him come back (only downside is he has tended to pick up injuries ,but if we can toughen him up lol).
seriously he is a young man who learns fast is pretty mobile , any folk knocking him have a look at his you tube vids for forest last couple of seasons.
Imo would be a good buy .

Totally agree mate. britt is always hungry and has a great work ethic. Does very well feeding off scraps. Big, strong and pretty quick. Also is bit unpredictable like Ighalo in his pomp! If we can't have a 20 million euros continental striker with pedigree or potential Britt is probably the next best thing. Always works hard for the team. I think he can do well in the EPL but that is never certain even for the top players. Just think of Veron or more recently Di Maria at United. Luv you horns!

From what I can tell he is a better version of Ighalo in nearly every way. Better with his head. Better at passing. Better finishing. Faster. More consistent. It remains to be seen how he does in the top flight but if Ighalo was worth £20m, getting him for less would be a good deal.

Assombalonga will never match Ighalo's 15 goals from open play in a Premier League season.

I'd say he'll at best probably a Deeney level player - just a bit quicker on the ground but weaker in the air.

I hate to break it to you but he definitely has the potential to. Maybe not this season and maybe not with us, but lots of people on here agree he could make the step up and get up to 15 goals in a season.

If you take away Deeney's penalties, I can't see how he can be judged as "prolific". Whilst I haven't time to work it out, I would suggest that Assombalonga's scoring rate in the Championship is as good as Deeney's was, if not better, particularly as the former is not a regular penalty taker.

Deeney level player? Scoring 13 and 10 goals a season in the Prem? I'll take that

99% of those were penalties and setup by other players so don't count.

Excluding penalties Deeney scored 65 goals in 205 championship games.
Excluding penalties Assombalonga scored 26 goals in 69 championship games.
Still excluding penalties, Assombalonga scored once every 170 minutes in the championship.
In comparison, Deeney scored a goal every 230 minutes.
If Deeney was prolific, Assombalonga is more so.

For his first season and a half Deeney played as a winger.

He thinks Simeone and Defrel are our lords and saviours. Basically, as long as they've never worn a Watford shirt, he rates them. Except for Oulare. He likes Oulare...

I also like Gomes, Prodl, Holebas, Janmaat, Doucoure and Pereyra, think Success has lots of potential and that people on here have been overly harsh on Capoue considering he was our top scorer from open play (but I doubt he could repeat the feat for us this season).

But I am genuinely concerned that our first XI is really lacking quality in key areas, and believe we need some clear upgrades on what we already have rather than just squad players considering that we finished 17th last season.

It's also just fun taking jabs at Deeney.

    But whatever suits your narratives...

Capoue is lazy, unmotivated and lacks any real work ethic. On his day he's great, but there aren't many days like that.

  24. Capoue might be lazy and unmotivated a lot of the time, but the handful of times each year he is motivated wins us the points to stay up

  25. Dusbero

Perhaps. I'd rather replace him with someone who is motivated for at least 80% of the season. Granting that all player will go through a dip in form.

  26. I know it's not a popular view, but I often feel that Capoue is judged on how he looks rather than what he does. Clearly he is very inconsistent, but IMHO he is neither lazy or unmotivated. He has a languid easy style that is, to me, more irritating than it is ineffectual.

You mean like, his posture, running styles looks somewhat effortless, making it appear that he's lazy, when in fact he's not?

I think Capoue just isn't disciplined enough so he gives the impression pf being lay. He does put a lot of effort in chasing the ball, it's just nearly always pressing the other teams defenders and he's often the furthest player forward for us. He's then out of position when they get the ball forward and he gets
criticized for not running back and getting goal side.
Think his goal against Swansea. Fairplay to him in that instance it won us the game, but he does it a dozen times every match normally without success.

The fact that Capoue's often in front or behind of play and chasing his own arse makes him look lazy.
