anybody know the best way to design an app for the Iphone/BB?

Does it cost a lot to design one and what info do you need to provide.

I have the idea but need somebody to bring it to life

To develop on an iPhone, you have to know the Objective-C language and what I've been told its a pig to program, and plus you can only develop on a mac and not a pc.
To Develop for a BlackBerry, you need to know the Java language, this can be developed on any platform, the software you need is free you just need to go to the blackberry website and go to the developer section and register and it tells you what software you need and where to get it from.
There are 2 ways to develop on the blackberry one is by the way of a widget which is web based so you use alot of html, css and also Java and the other way is to build an app solely in Java.

Appreciate the input - have a feeling that coding an app will be very much outside of my comfort zone. Any recommendations on where to go to get built and what info I need to supply?

    Thanks

I heard something on the radio about a company who will make apps for you for free, on the basis that they then pay you a royalty for any purchased apps, but they take the majority of the income.

Could be the way forward if you don't want to invest your own money but would get something out of it if it becomes successful.

there is a company (you'll have to do a search) that will create your app if they thinks its a good idea and give you a small cut.

I think they are the same ones that did stuff on the apprentice this year

strange that one of the forum's sponsored links, Elance, is exactly what I'm looking for. Good work Admin.

On another point - is it worth setting up a section on this site for site members to offer their trade, i.e. plumbers, electricians etc. May help some people out with extra work in these difficult times. Just a thought...

lol I wasn't going to steal their ideas, I wanted to know what they had in mind to se if I could offer my services to develop it for them, as that is what I have done my degree in.

we're just going to get a stream of people offering gcse coaching on the basis that their friend sat one once. that or people mocking other peoples' life circumstances. i'd be up for the latter
