i use utorrent to download them. surely playing the files is down to what you have downloaded? a music file for example could be played by itunes and a video with vlc or something.
Hmm, whats happened is i've downloaded a film of utorrent but its now saying its an RAR file, know anything about them?
nope. generally though, between realplayer and vlc media player i have no problems with watching stuff. check google for rar files and compatability e.t.c would be my advice. that and trying vlc
Cheers mate, turns out you have to have the programme "WINrar" and unpack the files, just downloaded a trial version and trying it now
Also fan as youve obviously used utorrent do you know what "(oan)" after the name means, Ive got the sound of the film playing but know images!
oan after the name of the file? no idea i'm afraid. as for the sound and image thing, try using a different video player
if the oan is inside the name of the file itself, it could just be the signature of whoever uploaded it. some people include a tag as they rip movies in a good quality e.t.c
Ok cheers, lol sorry if im p!ssin you off asking so many questions, but just one more, can you reccomend a good video player 'coz all i have is WMP and Sony Media Centre, cheers
Absolute legend mate, downloaded vlc and got it to play, cheers for all your help (in the unlikely event of me being able to help you with something i will try to return the favour )
ive had this problem so much. I must have several programmes for running movies. Winamp is my fav. Divx sometimes useful.
rar files are like zip files, they need to be unzipped using something such as winrar which is available for free download all over the place.
Azureus is good for downloading torrents, usually works pretty quickly. Isohunt (google it) is excellent for finding files. Good luck!
