Anyone else starting to get the hump with The Football League Sho

It just seems to me that they get the highlights and cut them into something to tell the story they want to tell, especially if we are up against a big club. Case in point apparently we were hanging on for dear life as Snodgrass cut us apart time and time again in the first half. Other examples are Barnsley and Forest away last year, Coventry at home this year to name but a few...

I might complain. :rant:

 

No matter how well we perform we are always on near the end and don't any credit at all. It's the same with the championship in 90 seconds on the bbc sport website. We are never shown on it even when Deeney scored that cracking winner against Ipswich.

 

We're mid-table, playing another mid-table side. Why should they care?

 

They showed the only efforts Leeds had all game and only showed our two goals and the one Deeney had after he went clean through after Connolly slipped over. The Coventry game the other week they didn't show a single effort of ours and made out we were lucky to get out of there with a draw and implied that Coventry dominated for 90 minutes. Now I had been drinking but that's not how I remembered it, as well as it directly contradicting Sky Sports highlights which implied that Joe Murphy won them a point with several vital saves which they had the good grace to show.

PS There were no comments from either manager after the game broadcast as usual.

 

Atleast with The football league show we had some words after the video highlights of what a great job Dyche has done........ Unlike the late kick off programe on a monday night. They just show the goals and talk more about West ham/Brighton.

 

Not as bad as when they show a live game on the Sunday, they show every game on Saturday's highlights. Except Watford's.

 

Does anyone give a **** about what Manish Bhasin thinks as speaks over Leroy Rosenior despite having never played? Not too mention that he seems to be on first name terms with every manager.

 

Don't get stressed. This happened in the 80's, 90's and in the last decade too. As a Watford fan you'll eventually get used to it over the course of time.

In the early 80's I still clearly remember Noel Edmonds talking about coming to visit Vicarage Road as a, (Hammers), supporter when West Ham played here. We battered them on the pitch, and he was quoted as saying that Match of the Day made it look like West Ham were actually in the game. From that point it became the norm for me.

 

They're journalists from the BBC, they are meant to be effing impartial... :sign12:

 

There are some days they spend more time showing the players walking out of the tunnel and lining up on the pitch than playing football, what sort of a plonker thinks that's good coverage or what the fans want to see?

 

There's some truth in what you say, but such is life. As a fan of a smallish unfashionable club, you should be used to stuff like this.

I like Leroy Rosenior though, top bloke.

 

Completely disagree. For me seeing this and the away team arriving at the ground and disembarking their coach is what I stay up into the early hours for.

I don't give a c**p what the football league show does or doesn't do, we get slagged off by opposition fans every week who think we're s**t anyway! I prefer being under the radar personally.

 

Just watched the repeat of this to catch up. You forgot to mention that we got to have the footballing nightmare this week. When I heard it was a refereeing decision I knew what it was and started to think it might be Loachy as it was his debut. Then I remembered the Bristol City game this year followed by several more flashbacks. Say no to Acid!

He is my review of this week's Late Kick Off. Somehow managed to show even less highlights of our game despite showing the West Ham goals twice as they were featured in a rip off of Come Dine With Me, although I'd probably do the Wycombe fan. Brighton were featured twice as well as "Buckles" introduced the programme with his favourite Brighton moment. On the panel were Dan (Big posh sod with plumbs in his mouth) Walker presenting with Mark Bircham; even though QPR aren't in the ****ing Championship and that fat **** Steve Evans, who likened himself to the Sir Alex Ferguson of League 2, as guests. So not only is he morbidly obese he is also incredibly arrogant as well. All in all a total waste of time as there is even less time devoted to your regional team than The Football League Show unless you are West Ham. Coupled with the fact it doesn't start until the beginning of January it really is as much use as a chocolate teapot, the only redeeming feature of the BBC's coverage of the Football League is that they do have the grace to show every goal unlike the last incarnation of coverage on ITV.

 

Genuinely don't understand the problem here. The football league show is ****e. Why bother watching it when you have Steve Claridge presenting anyway? The man is an absolute tool.

Just watch the highlights on hornets player. Why? £3 a month gets you interviews with players, and extended highlights of the Watford games.

 

I hope that one day the balcony that Manish leans against gives way causing him to fall on Claridge with both of them dying a slow, painful death on live television.

Starting to get the hump? its been **** since it started. My brother complained half jokingly, about them never showing us and he got a reply saying they have to be fair and they can't please everyone. Fair!? is that why West Ham are on the live game every time, and first every week!

 

Not to mention that they also have Match of the Day: Kickabout to help advertise replica kits to children so that they can also turn into glory boy armchair fan *******.

 

It is a woeful programme, much like MOTD. It is only good for watching the goals and nothing else.

 

I don't bother with these rubbish BBC TV programs. I just wait until Monday and watch the goals on the BBC website. As Admin said earlier, we've always had short shrift from the TV companies (Sky aren't that bad with us) and you just get used to it.

FLS is ok if you dont mind watching everyone but watford. I think they are cutting it off air at end of season for good

 

My worry with that is they might also stop putting the highlights up on their website

 

www.skysports.com go to football tab then championship tab then watford tab and highlights on there usually about 2.5 mins long

Agree that the program is sh1t.But I now only watch it on iplayer on the sunday morning and forward it to our game.

Could be worse though.Itv Digital could broadcast it!!!!!!

I prefer the football league iphone app which regularly has extended highlights. It currently has extended highlights (10 mins) of the Leeds game available, 8 mins of the Ipswich game, 8 mins of the Brizzle game, 12 mins of the Cov game (not sure why!) and many more.
