Anyone else missing the Championship?

Eight games in two and a half months; tedious football with hardly any goalmouth action, weird kick off times etc

It would be fine if not for these endless international breaks. Another one next month. So tedious.

Have we reached this stage already?

Joking but in seriousness I loved the Championship last season and in 2012/13 but ultimately without the final goal of promotion its all for nothing really. In spite of lack of goals and strange kick offs, that's the reality of football and I definitely prefer where we are now than when we were 365 days ago.

Evening games are almost a thing of the past. I think we've got 2 all season.

It's a weird position to be in. I really miss the Championship. The rhythm of it. The fact that there wasn't so much fanfare about every. single. match. But like others have said, this is what the Championship is for, to get here. It's annoying. I miss it, but I'm also very happy with where we are. I think that's fine.

Shame not to see goal fests and YouTube highlights of the game.
    Preferred paying cheaper ticket price.

Balanced by kudos, quality and the dream of playing European football etc

Hmm, i've seen one goal in 4 home games; i'll look forward to seeing the next 5 goals over the forthcoming 8 months....

Nope - bloody difficult league to get out of, glad to be playing at the top and holding our own.

But "missing the Championship" is missing the point. "No prospect of Premier League" = "no Pozzos" = (probably) "no club". So, personally, I'd rather "miss the Championship" than, potentially, "miss my club".

Think I speak for most when I say we might miss winning in the Championship almost every week. Don't think we reminisce the days pre Pozzos of not scoring much and losing (which we're not even doing at the moment) but in a lower league.

In a way I kind of really do. The Premier League's harder to escape away from match days, so if you lose a lot there you're confronted with it more often.

Reminiscing about beaten up old grounds in far-flung places as well is a totally valid reason to miss the Championship (and dare I say the old Division 2 etc) as well. The days of Scunny away are behind us now, and yes, I am sort of sad about that. Somehow.

The Championship is a great league if your competitive with a chance of promotion. That is the point though, it's excitement is because of the desire to get into the Premiership, which is a possibility for 10 clubs each year, with two automatics and four play off places to go for. Once promoted it's unlikely that a club will win the Premiership. Were Chelsea the last club to win the Premiership/Division 1 after getting promoted? And that took them 16 years and two multi millionaire and one multi billionaire owner. For teams promoted today the fight is not to win the division but to establish a foothold. To dig in and over the years improve the first team, build the club and create a competitive team once more. Plenty of clubs have had their 5 minutes of top division fame only to fall dramatically away - Carlisle, Northampton, Bradford all have gone from top to bottom in my lifetime. At the moment I think it is a fabulous achievement to have had four top division campaigns in the last 30 odd years. We are in a higher division than Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry, - All clubs with top division history way beyond ours. I will therefore take a few season of Premiership heavy lifting to get that foothold, because as good and exciting a promotion chasing team can be in the Championship, it is just as likely that you can be struggling to avoid the drop into League 1

Miss the forum meltdown from the usual suspects every time we lost a game and their Premier League dream suddenly seemed so far away?

    Nope.

No, since then Leeds promoted in 1990 won the league in 1992 (and probably the last to win it without spending mega millions), Blackburn promoted in 1992 and won the Premier League in 1995 and finally Man City were last promoted in 2002 and won the league in 2012.

    I don't miss it a bit.

I still feel we can win every individual match and that is what matters to me.

Being up in Nottingham, that has two struggling Clubs with genuine history reminds me just how lucky we are.

But, as an aside, a glance at the Championship this year shows a complete lack of small, (dare I say it) tinpot clubs. They are all decent clubs and most have history in the top Division.

I miss the amount of games. I miss Tuesday night football.

I do like being able to watch every game, having been away at Uni not getting to many games a season to come back and attend every home game and watch a stream of every away game I do find it very handy

And I'm enjoying being above Chelsea.

I miss the kind considered words, thoughtful insight and fair coverage afforded to us last season by the football media.

Or was that someone else. I can't remember.

Selfishly missing the ticket prices, the easily available tickets and winning more games than losing/drawing.

    Wouldn't swap though.

The club has put in place an excellent ticket allocation system that ensures that those fans that actually went to games before our promotion can easily get tickets to games now. And, prices so far to away games have been very reasonable. Stop whining

Yes, I know, hence why I'm going to more away games than home games. Ive also been to 10+ away games in the last 3 seasons but due to the method of booking have been screwed (my friends fault admittedly). A nearly 30% increase in home ticket prices isn't exactly fantastic though. I'm also not whining, I did say selfishly and wouldn't swap it. So there.

I'm missing the sheer volume of games and the evening games. Also our games havent been too exciting. However we are in the best league in the world and seeing some quality players every week. Tv coverage is also better, i mean i hate that channel 5 show for the football league! Absolutely terrible.

Also prices aren't an issue so far... I'm going to our next three away games all of which seem to be quite well priced. Even train tickets are working out cheaper.

Time will tell though, but right now very happy.
